    For Sale L322 bits

3 wheel nuts (Britpart) from an L322 but will probably fit a RRS. 2 are still in the packet. A set of glow plugs. I think these are for the TD6 fitted to the L322. No brand but still in the packet. They're very long and thin. Free to a good home but you'll have to pick them up or pay for postage.

    P38A Brakes!

Hi all, Collective thinking required, please. Yesterday I jumped in the P38A to nip to the shops. The 3 amigos took a little longer to go out than usual and then I set off. I touhed the brake and the pedal went all the way to the floor! Furiously pumping the car came to a standstill. I then...

    P38A Engine overhaul.

Hi all, As some of you know my #5 cylinder was blowing into the coolant on my 2.5 DT. The head is off awaiting pressure testing and I am wondering what else I might as well do while she's apart. Timing chains and sprockets seem sensible at 170k miles. How about turbo refurb? I think @Mark...

    P38A Reversing light switch

P38 manual box, 1995 oil burner. Possibly a question for @briansp38dse as I think he's been here before ... I'm having to wiggle the gearstick more and more often to get the reverse lights to light up and suspect the switch is giving up the ghost. I cannot remember where the switch is but...

    P38A Diagnostic port

Looking at the OBD plug on the scrapper because it doesn't work. There's a spare red and grey wire at the back. Is that normal?! Should it go somewhere? No spare bits of metal that I can see. Checked all fuses in BECM and they're all good. Any other ideas? I think this isn't @tomcat59alan 's...

    P38A Replacing brake lines.

@brianp38dse popped up today and we had a go at my brakelines. As others have noted these are attached to the body of the car before it is lowered onto the chassis. Access is not easy. There are 2 layouts for RHD cars (mirrored for LHD). The pipes for the rear go down the drivers side on the...

    P38A interior light

Hi all, my LHS (near side) interior light hasn't worked in ages. I did have a play a few years ago but then it dropped down my priority list. Today I decided to have a fiddle. Marty very kindly sent me this: "The interior lights are all driven off the same circuit in the BECM, and then they...

    Other EZ-outs

RRDT has received some EZ-outs that claim to last a lifetime. That sounds like the sort of challenge that deserves a sweepstake! Cast your bets, gentlemen!

    P38A airbag fault ...

So it has finally stopped raining, or at least steady spots and warmish which is equivalent to a Lancastrian summer so I decided to investigate my Airbag Fault message from last year on my 1995 diesel. Nanocom says bulb open circuit which sounds simple but both bulbs work fine in their little...

    P38A EAS lines

Today I replaced my rear airbags. All went smoothly, I thought. Started her up and went for a short run and all seemed good. Parked up and went inside to fit a showerpump (another saga of woe there but not RR related). Went back out this evening and the rear of the Rangie is on the floor. I've...

    P38A Starter motor fuse.

Hi chaps, Today's issue is the starter motor fuse has started to blow every few starts. It started after i did the transfer box rear seal but cannot think that radio motor loom is connected? My laptop is bust but squinting at my phone i think the fuse is only connected to the starter...

Disco 4 (LR4) Trouble in trattor land

Hi chaps, Posting for a mate who has just broken down awaiting recovery. Would be good to hear opinions. It is the 8-speed diesel. Symptoms. Driving on dual carriageway and went to overtake. All of a sudden the revs climbed but no power, like the gearbox was lunch. About 20 seconds later the...

    P38A Starter motor

Am I right in thinking there are just the 2 types of starter motor for the p38? The v8 one and the one for the diesel, ERR5445? Any other permutations? Think the early v8 ones were Lucas but switched to something else later, possibly Bosch. Think all the diesels had Bosch ones? Wondering...

    P38A Clutch

Hi all, Some of this is for my benefit, some is searching for ideas. LATEST Late one night recently I was heading up hill when the clutch started slipping. It happened in all gears. I managed to get up the first hill but as fate would have it I had a shed load of hills to get over that night...

Hi all, Just having a browse on the Bay and saw this, R8 KGM: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264277288234?ul_noapp=true Seems to have been off the road for 4 years from the break in MoT history. And again in 2012. Seems to suffer from headlamp alignment too - possible accident damage? Can anyone...
