DRLs and front end car discos....

The older Peugeot automatic lights 2001 were dangerous as there was no delay on them, as going under a motorway roundabout I was surprised at a lorry pulling out in front of me. I then realised the lights had automatically flashed the lorry. Close call and auto lights switched off and never used...

    Roll over protection

I strongly disagree, have a look at the b pillar and how its fitted. No strength there and there is a good bit of passenger to be a crumple zone before the cars crumple zone gets to the chassis.

    Roll over protection

Thinking of safety, maybe more common would be someone colliding with the side of the land rover, have you thought about or fitted rock sliders or similar? If a euro box was to hit the side there is not much to stop the occupants being squished until the eurobox gets to the chassis. +1 on more...

    Hot Stuff Disco

Usually when the ac is on the cooling fans are switched on. Check the condition of the radiator and feel if it is hot all over. Hope this helps.

    defender poorly need discovery help

£1500 doesn't sound too bad especially as it doesn't start now, and that money would go quite a way for the disco. A water proofed snorkel wading kit and plugs for a start. Did you find out where the oil was coming from?

    defender poorly need discovery help

If you take the rocker cover off and have a look at the push rods you may find a couple are bent. If its more serious maybe an engine transplant would be quicker, and then you have time to put bits together for rebuild of your original engine when you have time / money.

    Releasing Brake Drum

also when you said you had backed off the adjusters are you sure? the snail cams can be fitted either way so the only way to tell they are slack is to turn one at a time till they bind more then turn them fully the other way. Do that with all 4. The screw will prob. strip they usually do. when...

    2.6 swb!?

The only experience I have was a few years ago we had one which lost all oil pressure so we stripped it and put stella bottles in the bores and hit the starter button, hours of fun and we had to drink lots of Stella. The engine was removed and a 200 di went in. Parts are very different rear...

    Aspect Ratio

The Michelin 9.00 16 is marked as 255/100 r16. Those have the 100 aspect ratio. If not written on side wall it is /was 80 or 82 as this was the standard ratio back in the day.

    Aspect Ratio

If no ratio is specified it will be 80 or 82℅.

That is a very poor answer, that's the sort of excuse the freeloaderers use. Surely all the electronic stuff should get the job done?
