Just went to a nearby garage to have a look a upgrading my disco 1 to a disco 2, ended up buying a disco 2 and then somehow a freelander as well for the wife to upgrade hers.Major browny points !!!!

the lift pump feels like theres not much happening would have thought it would feel like im priming fuel up but nowt happening on the lever

Fitted new head gasket and reckon head today on my 300tdi disco now bloody thing wont start. Don't seem to have much fuel getting through, anybody got any idear what I got wrong Thanks

all running on BFG allterrains at 8mm off tread on all 4, done the 1 wheel test all seems ok, the guy I got IRD off gave up on his freelander for a 90 better offroad for him so I know IRD was looked after as I know him and his car. Its been good to do the work but got nowt to do at the moment...

After the wifes IRD total shattered the caseing decided to do a complete rebuild of her freelander so after 9 months (sorry for the wait dear) , new head gasket kit, second hand IRD , new brakes, steering and suspension overhaul and putting it back to 4wd as we bought it as a 2wd its now ready...

hi folks the rev counter on my 97 auto wont go above 1.5 and just bounces up and down any ideas what the problem could be . thanks

Just spent weeks off weekends working on me 97 disco for mot after teaching myself to weld. complete new boot floor, made and fitted new sills replaced suspension and done loads of other jobs, took it for MOT last week the guy put it on ramp walked underneath seen how much work I had done, then...

just replaced the entire boot floor in my 1997 disco cost was about £120 and taught myself to weld on scrap metal first. must have been alright as MOT man said it was good job, so see if you can borrow a drive from a friend and have a go. good luck

no sorry forgot to say it's a manual that has been converted to 2 wd by the last owner it was all done proberly

I have lost reverse gear in our freelander 1 could this be anything to do with the dreaded IRD unit. it just wont select reverse at all thanks.

Looking at that picture i'd cut the whole centre section out and replace it just done mine and the side panels and im a complete novice at welding but it was so much easier than I thought and looks a lot better.will upload some pics when I figure out how to upload them (been trying)

bit of advice needed can I weld it from inside including side panels or do I have to get underneath and do the welding. still trying to do the photos

ok will do but I aint sure how to upload photos will have ago for you, will look on here to see how to do the photo upload any body got any advice (apart from scrap it lol )

finally decided to take the plunge and totally cut out and replace the boot floor and side panels, a brave move for a novice welder:eek:

hi folks had a problem with our freelander 1 was driving along and when pushed clutch down to change gear the thing would slow like I was braking hard, then there was a loud clunk from underneath, so stopped and looked could not feel any play in front drive shafts ( have conferted it to 2 wheel...

I wish my list for failing was that short my was track rod ends, drake link arm ends, rear shock absorber bushes, rear antie roll bar drop arm bushes and a bit off welding needed near rear body mount and battery tray. all I did with the rear shock abobsobers was took the grinder to the bottom...

anybody going out on salisbury plane on saturday 4th may as i want to try my disco out off road only ever off roaded in a series before, and want to try the disco out before spending any money on it first. thanks:)
