    Bio TD5

TD5 uses Delphi unit injectors, which are also used in our trucks at work. These we have found to really not like bio, and when they go pop, so does your pocket. Still not sure..... Rob

    Discovery power problems!!

Sounds like a TD5, it has a self protecting ECU that shut's your turbo off in the event of over-heating. The fact you kept on driving it even when there is obviously a problem is worrying. Is the water level low when you check it? Open the bleed screw on the top hose and see it there is any...

    Hand brake roll td5

    It's a transmission brake, that's why.

    Bio TD5

How long have you been running on it, and where do you get it from? Very interested in the idea, mine's doing £100 a week in diesel thanks to 'Mr Broone', so a viable alternative would be very welcome. Anyone else out there doing this? Rob

    Rapidly blinking odometer

I believe the flashing odometer is indicating a difference between the reading on the clocks and the mileage recorded on the body control unit. Has anyone changed the clocks by any chance? Rob

    Water loss

Look for signs of coolant leaking down the edges of the radiator, common to leak here, also look at the joint to the head from the top hose, just an 'o' ring seals here. Failing that, it's a pressure test mate. Rob

    Reactions to Disco 3s

This is the problem with the general public today, they believe all the shyte in the media. Oooh Land Rovers burn lots of fuel, OK they arn't the most economical, but neither are some other cars out there. I hired a Renault Laguna this year on a trip to France, it used just as much fuel as my...

    AIRCON troubles; Disco2 TD5 2004

Here's how to read AC codes: 1. Switch the ignition OFF 2. Press and hold AUTO and AIR DISTRIBUTION 3. While holding these buttons switch the ignition ON. The fault codes will flash in the left hand window of the climate control panel. Here are the possible codes: 00 – No fault 11 – in...

    Central locking operates rear wiper!!

Check the rubber boot that connects the door to the body, that where the wiring flexes and most likely for the short to be at. The only thing I don't get is does the rear wiper drive your CDL stupid? Surely the short would work both ways? Dont go to the stealers, they'll only want to throw...

    A few quick Q's...

Is it a Discovery or a Boeing 737? What model mate?!!!!! Whine would more likely be bearing/gear wear. Oil change never hurts though. Rob

    Main fuel filter probs

Nope, just turn the ign on and floor the throttle pedal a few times until the feul light flashes on the dash. It self primes from there. Might have to do it a couple times. Rob

    td5 5-7 seat conversion

I'd talk to your insurance company first. Land Rover themselves did a spring conversion kit to get rid of air so I can't see the problem. A lot of gob****es will burst in here in a minute shouting about 'type approval' and all sorts of crap, but we don't live in Germany (yet) and our humble MOT...

    Main fuel filter probs

Riggy, Cauterets is great, quite an easy place to ski with good snow making on the mountain. They were one of the only mountains to have snow when we were there. Blimey, I know Eymet, been there a few times. Used to go to the market over there. In-laws are in Lagupie, real nice villiage, we...

    Main fuel filter probs

I was down your way in Feb Riggy, we went skiing in Cauterets. We go most years as the in-laws live in Marmande. I'm over again in July/August on the bike, doing the Alps first then swinging back across west. Fantastic country, we hope to be moving there in the next couple of years. Rob

    Main fuel filter probs

If you just tie the plug out of the way, no warning lamps will come on. It also means the water in fuel lamp doesn't work, but thats no great loss as long as you regularly change the filter, or get a replacement sediment sensor at a later date. I wouldn't cut it off, you never know if your going...
