Snow in Lancashire - at last!

Far more fun than a ford fungus.

    Snapped key :(

theBiglad's right but just using the key doesn't fully arm the alarm, I think.

    Snapped key :(

Screwdriver will just bust your barrel and would leave the car open to an easy theft!

Drive belt tensioner, window relay & spotlight wiring!

Also lose power steering if I remember correctly - none of it good but as long as the belt doesn't wrap around anything, no damage :)

Drive belt tensioner, window relay & spotlight wiring!

Took me all of 5 minutes to find the above using that very helpful SEARCH feature at the top of the page. Looks like someone else has sorted your spotlights - how much should we charge for this info?

    Electric seat switches..

That's the one. Used it on my seats, now work a treat - shame about the rest of the bloody thing :):):):)

    Electric seat switches..

Got classic seats in my disco. The switches can be taken apart and cleaned but be careful not to lose the little bearings. There's a guide on the web on how to clean them but don't have a link handy. Maybe check out RAVE to see if the new ones can be retrofitted (doubt it though)

    no electrics in back

Do a search on here or google for the RAVE manual. Green Oval site comes to mind but don't have a link. Download and you'll find all the info you should need in there.

    Steering lock/ignition

Only do this if you wnat you ignition to f**k up at some point in the future. (sorry Fanatic). Locks need to be dry lubricated with graphite or similar or the oil attracts dust and clogs up. It's easy enough to take apart and fettle with a file to loosen it up a bit.

    Tinted Window Film

Are you sure that's the limits? Seem to remember that they're a lot lower than that. Visually speaking, the tints allowed at the front of any car are not really worth the bother.

    Jump start !!!!

My 300TDi had similar starting issues requiring a lot of turning over before starting. Once going, it was fine all day. Turned out the lift pump was on it's way. Replaced and it starts after a couple of turns now. If it's still a slow starter once your electrical problem is sorted then maybe...

Discovery & Range Rover - Rear windows

As far as I remember, they are linked so the ecu should be ok in yours. When I first got my disco, the ecu was working but had dirty contacts to the motors in the doors. Cleaned them up and all was well for a couple of weeks then the ecu spat its dummy. In your case, I'd start with checking...

Why my landie didn't move off the drive on saturday

Now then. Replied to your Northerner fred a while back. Thing is, anyone living south of Galgate is considered a southerner up here. :D

Why my landie didn't move off the drive on saturday

Wouldn't want to spoil the game for anyone else but I knew what it was from the first picture  Almost ashamed as to how nerdy one can be. Congrats on the happy event.

    Preston area !!!!

Might be a bit far but Priory motors in Lancaster are very good. Not Landy specialists but I've never had any bother with them and they're reasonably priced too.

    electric seat wiring

Down load Rave from Greenoval and you'll find all the wiring you need. Failing that, I know that RRC seats come with 2 live wires (1 for backward/forward & 1 for all the others) and one earth wire. Get a battery and 2 wires and work out which is which. Then just find a suitable power supply and...

    rear windows

No probs Dave, glad to have helped. Did you get the download of Rave? Not as easy to understand as say a Haynes but it's a free manual at the end of the day.

    rear windows

Hi Bill, glad to have helped. At least the plate will look pretty now but can't help thinking that a polished cover plate looks far better (us bikers like a bit of polished ally):D
