Hi All Been thinking of removing the egr valve on me td5 dicovery. Was after some advice from you all. Would you advise i go out and spend £50 on a removal kit such as the one they offer at td5 alive, Or do i go for the cheap 2.99 solution on ebay. Cheers for any help.

Good point, from what i can tell no body on the forum has that high opinion of the brit part stuff. Will the coopers filters be ok? they don't seem to pricey either.

Just thought i would say got the disco back from the garage today it was the fuel pump in the tank. Incase anyone else has the same problem.

I'd quite like to know how this happens as well as mine has oil in the connectors, unfortunately cleaning them didn't resolve the problem so she's in the garage now.

Well i've spoken to a landrover specialist and he said 9 time out of 10 its the engine wiring harness. He told me to check the plugs in the ECU to see if there is any oil on them and to check the plug on the head as well. So checked them and they were covered in oil, apparently quite a common...

I've checked the pressure regulator and theres no leaks there.

theres also the lt85 gearbox is that any stronger than the r380, as i understand they used them on the old V8?
