    Question for dog owners

I have to say, the discos boot is massive. Alfie never has any issues with it. He’s a big lab and can lie any way he lies in comfort.

    Question for dog owners

Dog guard will go from the D3 to the D4. Straight swap for it. alfie lies down on his bed and goes to sleep, always has done since the start.

    Question for dog owners

Thanks for the info. However, you are 8 full years late to the party. Ive since sold the Freelander, bought a D3 and I’m about to sell that for a D4. Alfie however, is a happy traveller, with no issues.

    Gearbox swap. S2 for S3

It’s on a later pedal assembly, either a 2 or 3 assembly. The box that’s in needs work and tbh, I can’t be bothered getting it fixed, it’s beyond my ability to fix and it’s expensive to get refurbished. So trying to get a good box and swap in. Given it’s a 2.25 in an 80”, I think a S3 box...

    Gearbox swap. S2 for S3

Have an old 80” trials car with a hybrid of S2 and S3 running gear. Engine, axels are S3 but the gearbox is S2. The box is needing a refresh/overhaul and I feel changing to a S3 box would be a better move for the car. It’s jammed in low range and the shift is awful between gears with trying to...

For Sale Special track 2 wheels and tyres x5

For sale. 5 Insa Turbo Special track 2 235/85/16 size. 4 are nearly new on black 8 spoke wheels. 1 used on a black modular rim. Bought for 80” trialer but don’t fit under stock arches. Which is a shame. I don’t want to cut or modify the arches so selling on. Located in Carluke, central...

Series 1 Is there anything savable from this S1?

As has been said, it would be best to head to the series 1 forum. that’s definitely complete enough to be saved. Yes it will take a lot of work but I’ve seen far worse get saved.

    2.25 petrol advice

Looking for some advice for sorting the running of the 2.25 in my 80”. I have an new Accuspark, electronic distributor, new HT leads and new Viper coil along with new plugs. the issue I have is, there is an extra crossmember welded in the chassis for recovery point so I can’t get anything...

2019 - your classic Landy highlights of the year???

Moving it from under a tarpaulin at a mates yard to my gf’s parents garage. It’s still a long way off being road legal but it’s in a warm, dry shelter and is secure.

    Bearmach brake shoes

Have found a local company that can reline the old shoes. going to speak to them as the old stuff fits perfectly fine so my thinking is with new linings on the shoes they should fit with no issues.

    Bearmach brake shoes

Both back corners have this issue with needing work and the locking solid with a screw fitted. that can’t be right for parts to cause so much issue. The old stuff doesn’t cause any issues. Is there a better brand to try as I’ve got the NC500 next year and don’t want to be chancing it with brakes.

    Bearmach brake shoes

Had another attempt at this. Edges chamfered, piston backed in fully, adjuster in and still having same issue. Rather amusingly, if I refit one of the drum screws, the drum locks solid. But can spin if the screw is not fitted. Im guessing parts aren’t brilliant then. Is there a better quality...

    Bearmach brake shoes

Swapping over the brake shoes on the S3 axels on my car. Old shoes are of unknown age, lots of fibres and debris in behind the drums etc. when fitting the new Bearmach stuff, I’m having to file/grind away a fair bit of the top locating tabs that go into the cylinder to make them fit under the...

    Series 1 Paint removal

Brilliant. Thanks for the advice. as you will have gathered. Never done anything like this before so series ownership is a nice learning curve.

    Series 1 Paint removal

Paint on the bonnet is flaking and front panel needs a repair to lower area as it’s split. Which is annoying.

    Series 1 Paint removal

What’s the best/safest way of removing paint from the body of the series? have 2 wings, door tops and screen in bronze green. These are replacements for badly damaged or non existent parts. But the car is a faded shade of Tuscan blue which will be the cars new colour when it gets painted. It’s...

    Series 1 Project 80”

It fits in the garage. Just. The legal term would be “by a bawhair” but it fits. A few have done the P38 route and it’s one I’m likely to go with myself. Is there much extra to get sorted to have it working with the 2.25 engine. I’m sure you may have seen that top picture elsewhere... ;)

    Series 1 Project 80”

Some pictures of my project 80” that I’ve started to restore. Basic car is a 1950 80” with a chassis number of 16100*** It’s been converted to a trialler at some stage and gained a 2.25 petrol with SU carb, S2 box and S3 axles, with wide leaf springs I believe. I have a few bits of bodywork...
