transfer box neutral stuck in high

Yep, no parts, just two hours labour to check power supply, fuses, etc, motor taken off and reassembled, and all ok. Phew, no motor required.

transfer box neutral stuck in high

Thanks to all, and 2.0 Hippo It was just as he said, jammed shift motor and I'm picking the car up in an hour to hear full report. Doesn't sound like I needed any parts either. Will come back

transfer box neutral stuck in high

Only got as far as driving down the drive, and reversing back before being recovered as a safety measure. I don't think I have ever need to use the high and low gears or even down hill decent button.

transfer box neutral stuck in high

may as well add that whilst I was pressing buttons and trying to revert to normal gears, the gear shifter also got totally stuck in neutral. It was locked and then said apply handbrake. My 11 year old suggested turning off the engine, which I did and the gear then slipped into park, drive...

transfer box neutral stuck in high

Whilst I appreciate that there are a number of transfer box postings, none seem to match mine. Hence the posting. I have a 2003 RR L322. I accidentally knocked the high low gear button the other day and I keep getting the annoying bleep and the message which says "transfer box neutral"...

L322 occasionally slips into neutral on start up

this noise seems to be quite common, and is believed to be the ECU fan. It sits in the bottom of the big black box at the front of the engine bay. Some have suggested removing the fan and oiling it, but for me its too infrequent and now I know what it is, I can live with it. For now!

L322 occasionally slips into neutral on start up

Hello again, I have had the car looked at, gear box oil level was fine and the big round plug into the transfer motor seemed ok too. There was some wear to the protector shield around the wiring, but there was no signs of any problems. Maybe it had been a momentary bad connection, but the...

Coming back to RR - LPG on 4.4 BMW m62 engine

I have the L322 4.4 (2003 with 104k miles) with LPG and apart from some non gas related issues, it has run like a dream. I've done trips down to southern Spain and had no issues with LPG at all. I get the equivalent of 30-35 to the gallon at petrol pump prices. My gas tank costing about £45+-...

L322 occasionally slips into neutral on start up

All help appreciated. After driving my L332 about 600 miles with about 1 hour up steep mountain roads I parked up and left the car about 15 mins. I went back to the car, started it and attempted to select reverse. It wouldn't engage in Reverse and instead slipped into neutral and then the engine...

    weird groaning noise is back!

Well mine was successfully repaired ! At last! It cost £200 for the LUC refurb which was done in Sussex and turned around the same day and about £600 for the oil and removal and replacement of the Torque converter. It's once again great to drive. Good luck

    weird groaning noise is back!

Saint V.8 becomes Saint again. Just had my torque converter removed, sent for refurbishment in Sussex, returned within 2 hours with replacement lock up clutch etc.....refitted into the car and it drives like a dream (for the 15 minute drive to the office). Long trip ahead so will come back...

A quick question if I may, I'm having the oil checked tomorrow and am expecting it to be full of bits etc as I'm convinced everything you says leads to the TC LUC. If the garage cannot do the (big) job before a trip to the Alps on Friday next week, is it going to bugger up my car even more? Its...

    weird groaning noise is back!

Thanks again Saint V8 and others. Im going to have someone do the gearbox oil and filters etc, but can I ask SaintV8 about the groaning being so intermittent. It isn't just groaning all the time....I can accelerate up an average hill at 40-50 it groans and maybe 0.5 secs later it...

    weird groaning noise is back!

Thanks everyone, divorce isn't an option, its too expensive. Thanks also Saint V8, as I thought from the beginning that it sounded like it was around the fuel tank area, and I wondered if the fuel tank had come lose of its bolts or something. Even when it isn't making the actual groan noise...

    weird groaning noise is back!

also, I'm not sure about a recall. I've had the car for about 3 years...not sure what to look out for or what to do next with the recall question.

    weird groaning noise is back!

Thanks for the comments. Sorry I should have said, its coming from under the rear passenger seat, offside ie behind me the driver. Considered the wheel bearings but its so "on and off" a garage said wheel bearings issues don't sound the same. They were equally confused but not range rover experts.

Hello Saint.V8 It looks like you have a considerable amount of knowledge with RR's and I would be really pleased if I could get to the bottom of my two issues raised today. I'm just outside Dorking and cannot find a garage that knows the RR inside out. I guess you can see my posts easily...
