Well on my last trip the 80 series cracked its front axle and support bracket and a few days earlier lost all its ATF fluid and had to be left for a while in a remote location so it was lucky my Defender was there to assist.

Thanks for the reply - looks like I need a new ignition switch. Tried looking for one on ebay for some time but unsuccessful - hope I don't have to buy one from a main dealer. Hope they are easy to fit
