Where is this oil drip coming from?

Fairly steady run of oil which appears underneath running down the side of the starter motor. Doesn't appear to be rocker cover.

    Sealing a V8 sump

Mine's been leaking since I rebuilt the engine, I was rushing to get it finished at the time. Anyway, finally got round to sorting it today so I've got the sump off and it's nice and clean but it's very difficult to slot it back without catching things on the way which could dislodge some...

P38 4.6 rad removal and refit

It does just slip out with relative ease. It's been a while bit IIRC: Drain coolant from the bottom remove the top panel and disconnect the rad's from the front of the coolant rad, leave them where they are. disconnect top and bottom hose (leave stat housing on rad) Disconnect screen...

    4.6 engine removal

The bolts to the converter are awkward to get at and should be threadlocked on. I removed the engine sump so I could get a socket on nice and square to break them. Good luck with the rebuild, I recently did mine bare block and stripped heads upwards, found it a pleasure to work on.....make...

    4.6 engine removal

Undo the engine mounts, lift the motor with a hoist or on a jack, pop the mounts out and drop the engine back down to get easier access to the bell housing bolts at the top of the engine. Deffo remove the rad'. Be very careful not to twist it, even slightly as it will leak when you put it...

    P38 lost drive

So here's what happened. Car stood a while, disconnected the battery and gave it a charge. Reconnected the battery, drove car for 20 miles to pick up Mrs from work, everything fine. Pulled in to car park, stopped, put g'box in 'P'......car park space became available so put car in...

Driving with no front prop (P38)

The UJ on my front prop was FUBAR, I've removed it expecting the new UJ's to arrive but they've not. I'm now unable to do anything on the car until the weekend and my wife needs to use it. She'll be driving less than 100 miles before I fix it, can it do any damage? Thanks.

I appreciate I may be being a bit dim but having just removed and rebuilt the engine, I'm sure I'll cope with a little help.

    Rotating prop shaft

I'm just replacing the UJ's and need to rotate the shaft (front). It mentions raising 1 road wheel in the manual but I'm clearly not understanding it fully. Can someone explain? Ta

I saw a really rare range rover

I think it might have been me.....travelling Southbound on the M6? I did see a RRC in green but as I recall I was doing 60 and overtaking......... maybe not me then. Anyway, in response, all tongue in cheek I'm sure......a well looked after P38 is a reliable P38. I'm working my way through...

    Just to clarify...top hose...how hard?

I've searched the subject and not found anything solid...if you'll excuse the pun :-) Anyway, from what I can gather, a pressured top hose with a bit of give is OK and the pressure should go when the engine has cooled down. A solid top hose is bad. Does anyone have anything to add to this...
