    Disco 2 Which battery

Always check your earth clamps and clean up the connections on the earth strap before changing the battery. I've had a few issues because of a corroded/broken strap. Always a good idea to add additional ones as well.

    Gearbox problems

I've had this problem, due to a badly fitted reverse light switch. Maybe worth taking it out and seeing if the problem remains, then try refitting it.

Wood burning stove for my trailer camper, tin tent.

I think you've done pretty well for only being £52 in! Tell ya what, I'll match @dieseldog69 and send you £6 for your effort - only mind when I see the finished article installed and being used! There you go your back down to £40 spent - stop moaning and get on with it!

How would you loose road tax? - surely you just stop paying it monthly. I had the same thing with my defender.

    Gearbox problems - Lt77 replacement

Cool, Just been on the phone to Ashcroft - they advised that the 50A LT77 I have is not strong enough for the LT77 so wouldn't give a warranty if I purchased it. They advice their "Stumpy R380" which is over twice the price. Any thoughts?

    Gearbox problems - Lt77 replacement

Thanks all, Am I right in thinking that whatever solution I come up with for the 19j will directly transfer to the disco 200tdi when I convert?

    300tdi replacement battery

I've had a few issues, but cleaning up/adding new earth straps really helped. Am also in the process of fitting a 110AH battery in the engine bay of the defender. Managed to squeeze a battery box where the heater and washer bottle used to be. (Heater was knackered, and washer bottle relocated...

    Gearbox problems - Lt77 replacement

So - I have a 19j 110. LT77 went bang - its a 50A so presume its the common output/transfer gear issue. I have a good Lt77 from a disco (55A) but that wont fit - and rebuilding it to fit seems daft. So my three options seem to be: 1) Rebuild my own box 2) Send to Ashcroft for a rebuild 3) try...

    Wanted Gearbox needed

Hi all, I need either a lt77 or r380 Longstick box for my defender. Ive got a busted lt77 Longstick (50A) and a good condition (used) short stick disco Lt77 (55a) that i can exchange plus a bit of cash. (not enough to get a refurbished box from ashcroft). If you have a usable box you want...

    Insa turbo ranger

I think you'll have a better chance - just bear in mind the comparison is slightly different because of the block size on the AT, so you may still need a small wheel spacer, but you should be fine on the strut.

    Insa turbo ranger

I've done this - infact still have the tyres sitting at the garage from when I got rid of the car. I had 50mm spacers and 50mm spacers on the strut. Also has to cut and re-weld the seam in the front arch. A lot of work. Freebe looked amazing, but 18 months later the stress blew the ird and it...
