    Would you trust your Gaylander?

Just been to Land's End and back no problems, about 400 miles each way, no stops either direction and it didn't miss a beat. 1st longish run it's had since we bought it last year so still quite happy with it for what we paid. It now owes us nothing

    Wheel offsets ??

It should be stamped on any decent wheel as ET** No definite answer to your question as it depends who made the modulars and what you're comparing them to

    Bye bye grey trim!

Wasn't there an actual production change from grey to black at some point during the FL1's production?

Cheers mate, have you seen the pics of the "neatly folded" 40 foot static caravan on my vans roof... (The VW, not the Gaylander :) )

    WANTED - Boat Trailer

Has anyone got a boat trailer for sale (not silly money) that will take a 21 foot cruiser in & out of the water at the local marina - doesn't have to be roadworthy - I'll stick it on my roof to bring it home if necessary. Let me know, Cheers

    Pre-purchase Freelander advice

Read EVERYTHING about the transmission and if the seller won't let you do all the tests that you want to do, then walk away. Make sure the tyres are well matched, if newer on the front, be cautious. There's plenty of them about for sale; although at slightly inflated prices no doubt due to...

    Engine type

18N is the 1994cc Rover engine

    Engine type

20T2N is a prefix, the next letter & digits identify the type, iirc. Age of vehicle would be a big clue though, as already mentioned it should be a 2.0 Di or a Td4 (unless someone's changed it.....)

    195R15 GT MAXMILER 8PLY tyres

No personal experience of them - I've run Wranglers (crap on-road life) Maxxis ( superb) & Kumho/Marshall (even better than the Maxxis at "tarmac life" & pretty good on the soft stuff) Hope that helps a bit

    Which CB, any recommendations

Midland or Kernow are good basic budget sets that crop up on ebay. Intek are great newer multi band boxes. Used both and been happy with what tehy do for the money. Or look out for an old "modded" Formac - lots of fun (if you like that sort of thing) :-)

    Which CB, any recommendations

Truck King in Newark have always been good and very decent prices

FL1 13 pin towbar electrics advice

Is IDC the remote acces to caravan, alarm etc? I'd leave that to the caravan dealer to cover potential insurance issues, should you ever need to make a claim, I think. Sorry can't be more help

FL1 13 pin towbar electrics advice

Just seen Singvogel's reply. It does depend on what you're wanting to hook up to it I suppose. Just wiring in the necessary legal requirements is a good suggestion if you're a bit confused, but it shouldn't be too hard to do it. Where are you, perhaps someone can come and give you a hand if...

FL1 13 pin towbar electrics advice

The "old" 12N sockets didn't have reverse lights, they were on the 12S, but reverse lights are becoming a legal requirement on trailers this year iirc. I assume the in car wiring takes into account the possible need for both, so I would think that you can simply take the feeds from the fitted...

FL1 13 pin towbar electrics advice

Here's where they all go.. You'll have to check which are already connected to the plug in connector for the loom and work the others out for yourself I think. No instruction sheet with the kit? Have a look on Topix site, they have quite a few of the fitting guides, you might be lucky...

    Tyres - car or 4 x 4

I've happily run Kumho KL78 / Marshall Powerguard on both our vehicles for 3 years + with no complaints. Good on tarmac and decent enough when it gets messy underfoot. BFG AT's they're not, but at £70 a corner..... Highly recomended. Done 25000km in the Syncro on them and impressed enough...
