Thanks for that both. I have seen a key and fob on e-bay (LANDROVER DISCOVERY 2 1999-2005 2 BUTTON REMOTE KEY WITH STICKER FOR AUTOLOGIC) at £37:00 but haven't got the equpiment to program it to my vehicle. Is there anyone in Leicester area that could help out please?

I have missplaced, put down or generally lost one of the keys for my '53 plate discovery 2. Local main dealer has quoted £95:00 +VAT for a replaceemnt key and fob then 'about £40' to program it, presumably so that it will opperate the immobiliser etc.. Having looked aroun the forum I noted...

I take it all back, brand new on e-bay for £65:00 from LR dealer.

Might see how much a new one is, It's lasted 9 years from new, can't imagine an e-bay one lasting the same but I'll have a look around. Thanks

Just tried to get back into my D2 after locking the doors 10 minutes before hand. On the first press you can hear the lock clicking but the lock on the drivers door won't unlock, on the second press all of the other doors unlock. The drivers door will unlock with the key and they all lock with...

Stupid question but how do I get the bulbs out of the reversing lamp in the bumper of a '03 discover? is it pull, twist, push squeeze?

I take it you ran a wire with an inline fuze directly from the battery, through the dash somewhere and then under the carpet under the seat and up the back of the console? Did you put an earth on to the power socket? I am a bit of a technical numpty as you may have guessed

My 2003 facelift disco has got one power socket in the rear loadspace, has anyone wired an additional one in anywhere? I have tried using a multi addaptor plugged in to power i-pod etc but they have not been too robust!

Mines done 64000 and has been owned since new. I suppose the only way of knowing if its the slave cylinder is to dig inti the gearbox? If it is the AC leak off pipe I guess there is no long term problem?
