    Another Rear Air Suspension Thread.....!

Thank-you very much for the advise. I will indeed follow this, but I need to be clear on what you are advising.....obviously you're not saying to disconnect the airpipes themselves, I presume you mean unplug the electrical connectors.....however, aren't there 3 and not 4? 1. Power feed to...

    Another Rear Air Suspension Thread.....!

Completely agree with regards the MOT.....what I do know is any 'safety related items' that are fitted, must work as intended - I believe without exception. As most D2's have Air suspension, I presume this will need to work as intended, the grey area of course is whether this is a 'safety...

    Another Rear Air Suspension Thread.....!

Not really what I'm wanting to do as I think the D2 with Air Suspension drives a LOT better than when on springs + they are loads better for towing when they are working right. And there is the insurance aspect.....7 seats etc.....! As mine appears to have a newish Compressor and has new air...

Thanks for the advice! I will check MC as soon as possible! Any further views on the Engine Whine?

    Disco 2 4.0 V8 Engine Whine.

Agree they are easy to bleed. Once I bleed mine they are 'perfect' - it's just that they soon get spongy again after a week or so - and with no fluid loss. Having said that, although they have gone spongy since using the RAVE recommended sequence, they have not gone as bad after two weeks, so...

    Disco 2 4.0 V8 Engine Whine.

With regards bleeding the brakes, according to RAVE these should be bled as follows for a RHD vehicle: Left front Right front Left rear Right rear Usually it's the furthest from the master cylinder and work back towards it. Apparently, if this sequence isn't followed, the brakes can be...

Anybody..... this is really driving me mad and I want to avoid fitting any further new parts unnecessary. However, if I can identify a faulty part I'm more than happy to replace! Fingers crossed someone can put me on the right track with this!

    Disco 2 4.0 V8 Engine Whine.

Hi, Wondering if someone can help me diagnose a whining noise / resonance on my Land Rover Discovery 2 ES 4.0 v8 Auto (2000). This is a little long winded but intended to give as much background info as possible..... so please bare with me. I bought this approx. 3 months ago with 61.5k miles...

P38 2.5 diesel inlet manifold black gunge & poor idle when hot

Did you ever find a resolution to this problem? I have exactely the same problem (you desribe the symptoms perfectly) but mine is on a Vauxhall Omega fitted with the same 2.5TD BMW engine. Would love to get to the bottom of this. Someone suggested to me that there is a potentiometer (for the...

    Diesel Hot Starting Fault P38

Think you owe me a pint! Changed the CTS and the car is still the same when trying to start from hot. Disconnecting the CTS does make the car start from hot first time, but I think this is only beacuse the car is tricked into thinking it's cold.

    Diesel Hot Starting Fault P38

Same experiences for me. Changed the CTS and the car is still the same when trying to start from hot  . Disconnecting the CTS does make the car start from hot first time, but as you say, I think this is beacuse the car is tricked into thinking it's cold.

    Diesel Hot Starting Fault P38

Thanks for the clarification. I have ordered one and will try this - seems worth a go - I'll let you know how I go. I think I am going to be having my injectors overhauled in a few weeks so that is probably an ideal time to have this installed as the inlet manifold has to be removed anyway -...

BWM Diesel 2.5 TD: Ticking Noise (inc. Footage of actual Noise)

Later Omega's do use the Vauxhall 4 cylinder DTi engines (2.0 & 2.2). However, Omega's up to approx. 2000 / 2001 used the straight 6 2.5 BMW diesel as mine has (it's a 1999) - same as fitted to LR's, RR's, BMW 325d's & BMW 525d's - there may be others? Always use ordinary diesel - usually...

BWM Diesel 2.5 TD: Ticking Noise (inc. Footage of actual Noise)

I am new on here and have picked up a fair bit of info already. Hoping someone can help me a little. I actually have a Vauxhall Omega but fitted with the same BMW 2.5TD as fitted to LR's & RR's (aswell as 325d & 525d BMW's). I have also mentioned this issue on another post (Diesel Hot Starting...

    Diesel Hot Starting Fault P38

OK - will try this! I'll hold you to that drink if it doesn't work:) ! What I don't understand is how can this switch be faulty when the temp gauge still reads fine? (presumably this sensor provides info to the gauge on water temp?). Can you explain further..... Vauxhall TIS manual on this...
