    18" wheels

Adjusting the size of a wheel on any car can affect the way the suspension works, negative camber, toe in/out etc etc, it can cause extra strain on driveshafts/cv joints due to larger rolling radius. When you fit different wheels you should always have the tracking re set on your car.

    18" wheels

If they came from the factory with 18 inch rims fair enough, the facelifted freelanders look kind of ok bit if your just going to whack a set if 18's on a mk1 with no suspension mods well your asking for trouble, as for 22's On a freelander....... Don't be ridiculous!

    18" wheels

Extra strain on suspension components as there designed for the original wheels not larger ones, speedo calibration would be thrown out due to larger rolling radius of bigger wheels, not sure if the Disco/rangie stud patterns are the same and as a fellow freelander owner don't do it, get some 15...

    Front Caliper

You should change the guide pins first and see if that helps before replacing the caliper. The seals on them perish and allow water in which causes then to seize into the caliper. You can get replacement guide pin kits on flea bay and there simple to fit. If the pins are seized use loads of WD40...

new tyres today but 36 psi

Whoever fitted your tyres is a total bull ****ter. As a tyre fitter myself I have never heard of over inflating to stop a wheel leaking at the beads. The tyre should have been stripped, cleaned up and then sealed with bead sealer. It may feel fine at 36 psi bit the long term effects of over...

just ordered new tyres any one have these

They will be no good for greenlaning im afraid but will give you better traction on road in the wet. uniroyal are a mid range rain performance tyre. Also note they have a directional tread pattern so if you fit one to your spare wheel then it will only fit to one side of the car. Depending on...

    225/55R17 tyres again

You will be fine putting a 97 load rated Pirellie tyre on. if your mainly looking to use them on road try Bridgestone dueller HP Sport, I have them on my motor and they run a lot smoother and quieter than the last set which were Pirellie Scorpiens.

So off to Cornwall for a week early tomorrow morning, driving from thetford in easy anglia, disconnected the prop again and brimmed the tank until it won't take anymore fuel. Zeroed the milage and will report back how many miles it does to a full tank, provided I don't break down! Be interesting...
