    P38 - Door of doom

Hello all, Yup. I'm afraid that is correct. I checked it out today and the door has to open. However I shopped around today and they think it's the actuator in the door although they don't know for sure yet. I was told that they think they can possibly get the door trim off sufficently to...

Oh Jeez! I've just found a few older threads on this. I may well be stuffed.

    P38 - Door of doom

Hi Guys, I wonder if someone can offer some fairly urgent advice please. "Urgent" because my beloved beast is scheduled for its MOT by 15th May and suddenly, a week before I was going to put it in, its decided to lock the front passenger door, and not open it again. When I activate the central...

    Snow machine!!

I just remember a superb poster I saw somewhere. Said, "There is a name for non Land Rover drivers in winter. Pedestrians." It's great to get the little knowing nod, smug smile and the one-finger wave from other Landy drivers as you barrel along where others fear to put rubber. The snow isn't...

    Mud+Snow wheels and tyres for a P38

As above. The Grabber AT2s have been superb in the wet and the mud and did a very decent job today on some seriously slippery tracks. However, I've just been posting in the Disco forum funnily enough as this is the first time I've had a chance to test both vehicles on ice and snow. My Disco...

    Discovery 4x4 system

I took my P38 Rangey out for a run this morning with Grabber 2s and although it did a pretty competent job, it wasn't a patch on my Disco 4 with the standard P Zeros but with the dial set to "slightly-slippy". It's the first opportunity I've had to have a direct comparison between the two in...

Brake peddle clicks and sometimes nothing there....

I think I'm with you Jorjio. The click is a pain and when you forget about it and it happens it startles you a bit, but given the hit/miss ratio with the kit and the hassles I think I will grin and bare it. As with all the other problems. Character? Given my very low annual mileage and why I...

    Ich bin ein Nurburgringer

I should have hooked up the Beemers and the Nissan and THEN gone for the 114mph finish. That would have been something to see.

    Ich bin ein Nurburgringer

Hello all, As a break from my usual grumblings at what fresh horror my beloved P38 has brought to my life, I thought I'd report some good news for a change. I'm working over in Holland at the moment and am in my D4. The best, most comfortable kit lugger bar none. However, as I had a rare...

    RF receiver Fix

Even I managed to replace the receiver with no problems and I have the mechanical skills of a sponge. It's a bargain. I ordered mine from Brit Parts I think but they wouldn't supply directly to me for the receiver so I bought it via a local garage that Brit Part gave me the number for. 10 minute...

Central locking keeps draining my battery

Mine occasionally throws a fit and locks the doors every few seconds. Whether by luck or what I don't know but the temporary fix for me is to put the key into the ignition, start the engine and unlock the doors with the fob. Locking and unlocking a couple of times usually clears it. I have...

p38 fuel cap release (2.5 bmw six diesel)

All done. And the dealer did fix the dash into the bargain as well. Sorted. (until next time).

    range rover run

Sorry to hear that Roddy. The convoy from Gaydon and the off road course really did make the show. There were loads of stands selling parts etc and demos in the arena from various clubs which were very good. Some brave guy turned up in a Frontera to a Land Rover show. Actually he didn't do too...

    range rover run

Hello all, Did anyone make it? It was a good run and great fun. The arena interviews were good and we had one of the v v early classics there too. Obviously the guy interviewing knew his stuff as he knows a cracking P38 when he sees one ;) I thought the off road course was great fun.

Did you have any luck Roddy?

p38 fuel cap release (2.5 bmw six diesel)

Yup. I noticed it was on wrong and tried to get it all back together properly the other day and almost managed it. "Almost". It's saying something when even I managed to improve on it I can tell you.

p38 fuel cap release (2.5 bmw six diesel)

I found the various parts but my local dealer has quoted me £72 for both the dash release switch and the flap latch including fitting so I'm taking it in tomorrow. Hopefully they will have to fix my wobbly dash when they replace the switch as well. Sadly that does mean the end of my Duck tape...

    range rover run

If anyone is going and you see an N reg Epsom Green P38 in the line-up with the fuel flap held down by duck tape, stick your head through the window and say hi.

p38 fuel cap release (2.5 bmw six diesel)

Is this the little bit of plastic that has pinged off does anyone know and if so I'm assuming all my worries will float away if I get one? There's a small silver pin poking out just inside the fuel cap area which looks like it would receive the flap latch but I don't have one to look at...
