    90 Rebuild - Bobby

I know how much you guys enjoy a rebuild, anyway Ive had my 90 coming up 8 years, although sold it today. Ive done loads of work over the years, although this is probably the most recent transformation, carried out in febuary this year: Land Rover Defender Respray Timelapse - YouTube I know...

    Overrun noise

Just a thought, After sorting my wheel bearing, i took the landy out for a few viewings and it was fine last night. I had myself and 1/2 others at any given time inside. It is lifted 1" though, and this morning I've taken my tools out meaning not only does it have very little fuel in it, its...

    Overrun noise

Hi All, I've always had a bit of backlash in my 90, but after changing a wheel bearing yesterday it seems to rattle a lot more when I lift off the accelerator, especially at higher speeds. Do you think I've just put the halfshaft back in and not quite lined it up with how it was before? I...

    Indicator Problems

Its worth checking out the link in my first post, then testing the connections which go into the hazard switch. This will allow you to check whether its the switch which is at fault. If not you can then trace the connections to the stalk and also check the flasher unit/relay. Ollie

    Rust on bulkhead

I'd vote for this area being structural too. Regardless though, just because your landy has an mot certificate, doesn't mean its safe or assessed by a competent tester. I picked up this MGB last year, it was a similar 'fresh MOT, no advisories' case haha. After I'd stripped the paint (and...

    Indicator Problems

Hi Lads, Just to clear it up, after tracing all the wires as per the link, and determining that the hazard switch wasnt at fault, i popped my multimeter on to the flasher relay. Everything seemed fine which was odd. I gave it a little shake, plugged it back in and the indicators and hazards...

    Rust on bulkhead

Hi, As others have said, what youve got is a real bodge and definatley not worthy of an MOT in my opinion. I repaired my bulkhead about 18 months ago after the paint started bubbling on the corners. I guessed it might be a bit more work than anticipated so bought a mig welder for the job. Ive...

    Indicator Problems

Hi All, I've recently resprayed my 90, and on reassembling the indicators they dont seem to function using either the stalk or the hazard switch. I've followed through this article: Hazard Switch & Indicators - fault diagnosis - Defender Forum - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum and have...

    Removing Door Glass

Cheers chaps, I was a bit reluctant to try and take off the window channel bacause the screws are pretty corroded and ive not really got time to fit new channel at the moment; although after chopping the door bottom off to weld the new section in it came out a treat! Ollie

    Removing Door Glass

    Removing Door Glass

Hi all, I'm currently repairing the door bottoms on my 90 although behind the glass I there is a corroded piece of metal which rattles like anything unless I have the window fully wound down. While the door is on the workbench I'd like to remove it but I cant without taking the glass off...

Hi guys Ive had an issue recently with my insurance and I was wonderin how modifications appear on the insurance docs. I've phoned the NFU who i'm using and they tell me that modifications are only documented on their computers and that they do not list them on the policy documentation itself...

    Britpart / OE Bushes

At the moment the bolt is siezed to the inside of the bush so even if I cut the ends off it'll still be attached to the axle, I'll wd40 it like crazy today and see how it goes tho. ;) Re quality thanks for the heads up, I'm fitting the bushes anyway as frankly it cant make the ride any worse...
