This seems to be coming from the end of the dipstick, not the join between the tube and the block. Does yours do that too?

Right, good news! Managed to get the seal out: Bad news, I caught the housing a few times whilst knocking it out: Is this likely to cause a problem? Or can it go back on OK?

OK, can't seem to get is past the lip in picture 2, the screwdriver is just punching through the metal plate.

Is the metal ring/lip supposed to come out too?

Well that didn't so so well....when I hammer it, it's just deforming the metal ring in picture 1 - it won't seem to go past the lip in picture 2?

Hi All, I'm in the middle of changing the front output seal on my series 3, and I can't work out how to remove the seal from the housing. I've removed the housing from the transfer box, and the seal is wedged between the main body of the housing and the front lip. Do I need to drive through...

Hi All, My S3's previous owner removed the dash as it was rotten (and threw it away!). There don't seem to be many decent replacements around, so I'm going to make my own using ply covered in foam/vinyl. Has anyone tried this before? I'm looking for some inspiration! Cheers, Lew
