Swap my Freelander 2" lift and BF Goodrich Wheels for standard set up

As I don't use my Freelander for off-roading, even though it looks good it would be sensible to ditch the lift kit installed by the previous owner for standard suspension. Car is a td4 2002 Freelander. I have original receipts for the lift kit and camber correction pins, and will include all...

Awesome, cheers Nick. Will get the lads at work to help me with this later this afternoon!

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Nope - as per my previous posts I bought it on a dark rainy evening at auction, and hadn't really checked it out. It didn't cost me an excessive amount though, so I'm not moaning about the problems/quality/history, I'm just trying to gain advice on fixing things! :)

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

That's what I was worried about - although the VCU is still in place - but as there is no propshaft connected, I think unlikely to be that? Any suggestions as to how I check to see if it's likely to be the IRD?

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Yep, my guess is that someone needed it for something and just unbolted the shaft. Groovy, thanks. Will go through the FAQs! Cheers, that's good advice. Bell engineering are a bit of a trek from here, so I might try and find someone a bit more local to Southampton. At the moment, there's a...

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

No holes that I can see. I'm leaning towards the garage needing a propshaft for someone else, so taking it off this... Possibly a silly question, but when I get hold of a shaft and fit it, what should I look for? Will it be pretty obvious if there's a problem? Also discovered the sunroof...

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Well, I got the wagon into the garage so I could get some pictures in the dry... I assume these are of the IRD and VCU, implying its only the propshaft that's missing?

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Well, the previous owner just called me (kind fellow). He traded the Freelander in against a new one, so it was in the auction I bought it from I guess because the garage didn't want it hanging around. Good news (I think). He traded it in a month ago, and it had a full drivetrain (as well as a...

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Defender 110it;2047656]Perhaps the previous owner wanted to "Macho" up his Gaywagon, he may have got fed up with the local bum boys winking at him, and waiving their spoons :D Hmm, with that in mind, perhaps i should change it back... or paint it pink! :D

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Chaps, thanks for all your replies, most helpful. Sorry, I'm good with boats but not so much cars, VCU and IRD stand for what? I'm going to get brooklands 4x4 (local) to sort the camber hopefully, then will put 4 new boots on it. The spare also shows evidence of camber wear, so 4 new...

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

Is the no front prop the cause of the fuct drive train, or is the fuct drive train mitigated by the removal of the prop? I'm not hugely fond of the 2" lift. There's a freelander in the car park, I wonder if he'd notice if I swapped all the gear over... Thanks, I like I challenge! I hereby...

Just bought a modded Freelander TD4... seems to have no front PropShaft!

I've just (last night at Auction) bought a 2002 five door Freelander, that the previous owner (who had it from new) did a few bits to. So far I've discovered (some more obvious than others!) a 2" lift and some chunky tyres, a snorkel, a synergy 2 digital tuning model, some wiring and switches...

300tdi - Help needed wiring in a GPS Reciever

Pretty please? Surely someone here must have experience of tapping into a feed that's only live when the ignition is on! Failing that - does anyone know the best way I can piggy back this circuit directly off the cigarette lighter wiring?

300tdi - Help needed wiring in a GPS Reciever

Hi All, I've just bought a mount for my TomTom GPS Reciever, that allows for a direct connection to the vehicle electrics (i.e. not through the Cigarette Lighter/Accessory socket). It has it's own fuse, and what I am really after is anyone who can suggest the best place I can tap into a live...

    no reverse lights

My 300tdi suffers from exactly the same problem, although the lights do still stay on when I hold the gearstick back, so you've got me all worried they will stop completely now! Hopefully someone may have a solution?
