Hi Not posted on here for some time now, but have a few problems, i need to take the engine out of my 98' Disco 300 TDI as the clutch is knackered, thought it might have been just the slave cylinder as it was partially disengaging the clutch (won't engage gears unless engine is not running...

as the above says, not had this problem before, but turned the key back to the on position drove home, (about a mile) and all was ok again, not sure whats going on, any advice would be great. is this an ignition switch problem or something else ? thanks

How difficult and costly would it be to get the components for an aircon unit, and to fit it to a non-aircon late 300 TDI, just a thought at the moment, i'm sure there has been alot of people who have stripped it out of their DIscos to do green laning and off roading

Disco went in for the MOT today and passed, no advisories or anything, so chuffed, all the hard work paid off :) I thought it may have failed on the smoke test, as when i checked vosa's website for the MOT failure history it had failed 2 MOT's ago with that, but it has been decatted, and EGR...

not sure if this has been discussed before, but noticed that the rear light cluster on me Disco only uses them for fogs,reversing light, when replacing a reversing light bulb noticed that the wiring seems to be there, but no bulbs... and the rest of the functions work off the bumper cluster...

as above, are there any tips anyone can offer while doing this apart from the obvious, clothing, mask, goggles ? going to spray it with compressor attatchment/gun , with shutz cans

for some reason, i may have disabled my immoboliser from arming, i think it may have been when i was having fob problems a while ago and had to repair some things inside the fob, are there any fob programming sequences i have to do to arm it again, i now don't get the immobiliser light come up...

Can everybody who has a disco 1 TDI 300 give their MPG as i am thinking mine is a bit too high, i am getting approx 22 MPG at the moment, but this has only been tested not very accurately when i put £15 worth of diesel in when the fuel light comes on, and resetting the trip counter, mine gets...

i'm due to change the gearbox and transfer box oils on my Disco soon, has anybody noticed any improvements using this when the engine is cold, sometimes until the box warms up it's a bit of a bitch to change gears. also changing into 3rd is a bit snatchy, will this oil improve that or not?

Just fixed the tensioner with a new bearing, then belt, the car then had a squeak, the penny trick sorted that, now the damn alarm fob won't work, so the immobiliser is stuck on, i tried using the key to unlock and override it, but the previous owner must of had the ignition barrel changed, so...

I had a squeak, when the engine was on tickover on my 98 disco 1, i then decided to do the fan belt tensioner bearing, as this seemed like a likely culprit, i did the bearing change, which went ok, however, the drift i used slipped when in the vice :doh: and i thought i had buggered the bearing...

ok as we speak i am trying to refit the fan belt tensioner, after replacing the tensioner wheel bearing, which didn't go too badly, the part i am having problems with is getting the wheel back on the tensioner, i presume the recess/hole in the casing bhind the tensioner has to mate with the lug...
