    You show me yours......

Apart from the dripping core plug (which will need to be replaced) I am struggling to understand what the problem is. The temp goes up when you are not moving and goes down when you are. Unless the needle is pushing the 'red zone' this sounds normal to me. V8s do radiate a lot of heat.

    twin exhausts

Yes this is true. Normal practice is to put a balance pipe between the two exhausts.

    V8 Lpg Tuning 2

Close up the screw on the power valve and then unscrew three complete turns. If it will idle but not rev cleanly, I would suspect that the diaphragm in the vapouriser is split. Given that you don't know the history it would be worth getting the vapouriser serviced (or buying a kit and DIY)...

    V8 Lpg Tuning

I'm with EeEK on this in terms of the facts (but not necessarily the tone of the delivery)! The OP has already posted it has three screw on the unit and one on the pipe so we know he has an open loop system with a manual power valve. Nothing wrong with that, in fact many people believe...

Problems LPG after engine change from 3.5i V8 to 3.9i V8

Hi 2 Horse, The title of your post suggests that you think you have an LPG problem but little of the information provided (to date) supports this. Most people have focussed on the dizzy change as a possible cause and this may well be correct but you could help here by answering one simple...

    Ignition

He is using the original White/Purple wire. When he stops cranking 'cos the engine fires, the feed then comes via the White/Pink wire. However with this setup (which is the original set up) it seems like the solenoid is drawing the power away from the coil causing the engine to die.

    Ignition

Hi Fett, Don't use a coil from a 3.9 as it is probably not suitable (low Ohms) and you may fry the Luminition. As it happens, because I am sad and have no life, I have been mulling over your problem and have come to the conclusion that the coil is a 'red herring' anyway. You don't...

    Ignition

Don't worry Fett, I've yet to meet anyone who really understands coils, or at least can explain to the average joe what is important and what is not (including me). However, a couple of points. The 16C6 coil was the standard coil fitted to a 'points' RRC and it is a 6V coil. When we talk...

    Ignition

Hi John, I've been away and missed your call. Sorry M8 I'll call you on Sunday. One piece of advice though. Stu's red wire must be attached to the soleniod as this is the power feed to the solenoid.

    Ignition

Aw shucks it was nothing:D Although it is 99% that the White /Purple wire is the problem, it would be worth getting Stu to check the continuity at both ends to make sure. Also, with the ignition on, check the voltage from the White/Pink wire at the coil as this is the original Ballasted...

    3.5L V8 Help

In my view, A , C and E are nothing to do with LPG, just bodges. I have never seen the pipes at A before and can't think what function they would have performed since the are presumably tapped into the top of the dashpots (which is just filled with oil). If the carbs are working leave alone...

    Classic trailing arms

The primary purpose of double cranked trailing arms is to restore the angle that the arm sits in the bush at the chassis end so in theory, they can help with articulation. It is just simple geometry. However, in practice what happens is that the limiting factor just moves somewhere else...A...

    V8 3.5 probs

RAC guy sounds like a bit of a cock!!! A decent V8 running on carbs should return 14mpg on average not 4mpg but a 200tdi will give mid 20s all day long. Your car, your choice. For me its a V8 every time but mine isn't a daily driver and runs on LPG. Just out of interest, since you...

    SU overflow

If hitting it with a hammer doesn't work:D..................... .................you will have to remove the carb, remove the bottom cover plate and adjust the brass tab on the float hinge. If you have to go to that trouble it would be worth replacing the shut off valve and the o ring seal...

    Bobtailing and the IVA testicle

Yes, same here but I did mine before the SVA came in (and can prove it) so it isn't an issue for me but that doesn't answer the OP's question. After the SVA came in it was a bit of a 'grey area' because it hinged on the local DVLA office interpretation of what constituted a radical chassis...

the weekly(or maybe daily) is it exempt thread

Well for a change, the seller seems to be switched onto the issues at any rate! Its pretty simple really, if the identity comes from the donor Rangie then it could legally be tax exempt. If the identity comes from the Series3 its a ringer. I can't see the reg plate to check. The points...
