CB radio's are they a thing of the past?

The reason I am asking is six years ago I did a trip across Morocco with a group of 5 vehicles. We met up on here. And what a great time we had. I bought a had held CB radio which we used to communicate with each other. The others had built in CB's Since I came back it's been in the back of a...

Defender 110, 200 tdi Clunk when coming off the gas at speed.

Anyone has any suggestions where I should start looking at first. When driving on the motorway between 55 to 70 mph when I take my foot off the accelerator a clunking/grinding mechanical noise appears. It immediately goes when putting the power back on. All seems normal otherwise. Only seems...

    Sad day today

After nine years of a Defender ownership I have put my faithful 110 up for sale due to lack of use. It has served me well over the years, Each year during the winter it has got me up snowy lanes where even the snow plow couldn't get up to visit the mother in-law who was snowed in. Had a great...

My Defender passed the control technic ( MOT)

What I can't understand is last time I had some advisories which I never addressed. This time I have some different ones. I have come to the conclusion that it must repair itself. Only three more years to go before its classified as a vintage vehicle here in France, then Its a MOT every five years.

New French M.O.T controls Control Technic

Apparently from May next year new Controls come into force for the French M.O.T. Oil leaks will be a failure for the Control Technic. Guess there will be a few less Defenders on the road over here. Any one know if these stop oil leak fluids are any good?

Lost both direction on my trafficators but still have the hazard lights. Checked all the fuses, all OK. All light bulbs are working. The steering stalk switch is only about two years old, I reconnected the old one which other than the horn was in working order. Still no trafficators. My...

When a 110 comes in handy

Great start to the day. At 05:00 this morning I was awaken by one of my donkeys honking. The other donkey had got out of the field somehow. I was out there in my pajamas in the pouring rain trying to catch the bastard. Once I caught him he wouldn't move. Try pulling a stubborn male donkey on wet...

Paint job gone wrong in 12 months

I had my Defender resprayed about a year ago. The job was done by a professional respray garage. The have also don a job on one of our cars and they did a great job. You can't see anything. However on my Defender the paintwork has started to bubble along both front doors and the rear door. What...

    Connecting up the Heater Matrix

Just a thought. I have recently fitted a new heater matrix but the heating system still doesn't seem to heat the inside of the 110. Does it make any difference which way the the Matrix is plumbed in. There are two water pipes which come out of the heater into the engine block. Does it make any...

Which Glow plugs for a 200 TDI

I have a 1990, 200 tdi Defender. Original. thought I would give it a treat and change the glow plugs. It starts on the button as always. Even when left standing for a couple of weeks in below zero temperatures, but I have notice if I don't let it tick over for a few seconds when I give it some...

    Picture of your Vehicle.

Just thought it would be a good way of getting to know one another on this site if we were to post a picture of our beloved Land Rover. It would be a sort of on line show or meet up. Just your favorite picture.
