    Faulty Lifters

Wammers you fill the lifters with oil, as I have just said you were right regarding the STP / cam lube, that was my mistake, the llifters should be filled with oil. I fitted a cam with over half an inch lift and before checking the pre load these just touched the piston. The standard cams are...

You are correct regarding the filling of the tappets with stp / cam lube Wammers, but squeezing the oil out of the tappets not ole bean.

    Faulty Lifters

They should be purged by pumping oil into the lifter, this method has been tried and tested on race engines and works. Do use good quality oil.

    Cheapest for LPG conversion...

I was recommended a guy by a LPG company, his name is Mick Bird try him on +447834218849. £1500 sounds about right, £800 too cheap, make sure you go for a sequential system, and read the info on this site, it can be a problem with these engines.

    Faulty Lifters

The pre load is necessary on high lift cams, its not really necessary on a standard cam. Did my P38 cam and 3.5 cam no probs. Could be ****parts from britparts. I tried a maf sensor from them it was worse than my broken one!!! Just remember when you do replace the lifters pump them full of...

    misfire catalyst problem p38 4.6

Gems have pre cat o2 sensors, I have a Gems and have had the cats removed, if the sensors are fekd it will make it run poorly. It may pass the emmissions test, but I would get the faults read if any, and pay attention to the o2 sensor readings, these will affect your emmisions and how smoothly...

P38 violent wheel wobble at 55mph

I would suggest that where the tyre wear is, indicates a problem, can you jack that wheel off the ground and check for free play in the hub and track rods etc, check through and hopefully you will find something. Good luck.

    Suspension bouncy

You may be riding on the bump stops. I had simialr probs when I burst an air spring. If you have air springs and they are ok, check the ride height, see if its better on a higher setting.

    P38 White smoke, 3 slipped liners !

I don't care how much they cost, I love the sound of a V8 through Janspeed pipes. 20K on a 7 seater or 2K on a Rangie with a few probs, I know what I'd do.

    Noisy Lifters, Right oil?

Synthetic should not be used, semi sythetic is ok. Did you prime the lifters before you installed them, and bed the cam in at 2000 rpm for 15 mins?
