    Is there any point?

I'm planning a second day to take bigger boulders up there with a better machine. Might have to camp out afterwards and see if they are watching our efforts and targeting the area as soon as possible after the event

    Rear door card dimensions

I happen to have one sitting in the garage, there are cut outs for things but the overall dimensions are 855mm x 540mm.

    Terrafirma-Britpart Springs

I have medium duty Britpart springs and they are pretty good off road and on, stiff enough on road to handle well and no probs articulating off road. I researched it a lot before going for Britpart as I assume all parts from them are crap but the springs get good reviews, I'm happy with them.

    Sound deadening- sources of noise?

I did the floor in the front of my 90, that meant I could hear the rear noises more. I then did the roof in the front which made the rear noise more pronounced. I did the rear tub and the engine noise was standing out then. Fitted under bonnet sound proofing last weekend and now the gear box...

Arrghh Britpart HD clutch. Made of toffee

I don't know how old the clutch in mine was or how many miles but there was loads of life left in the friction material, I do a bit of towing but mostly drive it on roads and green lanes, to see the rivets blown out like that I can only guess it's the design of the plate that's not up to the...

Arrghh Britpart HD clutch. Made of toffee

The clutch in my Defender burst all the rivets out of it, no manufacturer logo or anything but it was a budget one: I fitted an AP clutch and the difference in quality is obvious: For the size of job spending a bit more on decent parts is just good sense!

    heated seat not working

Why have a heated seat in a Land Rover? Sorry, couldn't resist. Check the fuse / supply, if there ain't power - there ain't heat!

    Mad painting idea?

That car is fugly. I have been thinking of spraying my Defender with Raptor stuff, I quite like the effect it has and it'd make it quite noticeable if it ever got nicked. Also, no problems with scratches etc. when laning.

    Replaced clutch kit

I'm guessing prop shaft? If that's missing bolts I would be worried about the job that's been done.

    sounds like a puncture ?

I'd go for flat spot / egg / tread new tyre should sort it but which one? If your spare is good it's show if you cycle the wheels

    dumb question

Bit of a mix, I mostly get by with metric. Make sure you have a lump hammer and a good chisel.

    Interior light.......????

Power is getting to them somehow, I assume they have a permanent live and the pin switches give them an earth so they must be getting a partial earth from somewhere?

eBay 7" screen flip out things

I bought a Pioneer today, it's pretty good for the money: Halfords | Pioneer DEH-4600BT Car Stereo It sounds way better than my old head unit and the hands free works spot on. I have DAB radio in my MINI and apart from trying it from time to time I just can't be bothered with it, it's ok...

eBay 7" screen flip out things

I have an awful head unit in my 90, it truly is the worst piece of crap I've ever bought. I need a new one and thought it would be good to combine the whole iPod, hands free, radio thing and get something that does it all. Question is; do the flip out ones on eBay do the job or are they the...

    18 y/o with a 25 y/o Defender.. Well a 90!

Looks nice that. I'd guess that's about 20 - 25 MPG (depending on how much you paid for diesel) so it's not great but nothing to worry about, it might need a service / setting up so there may be more you can get from it. If you're parking it on the road I'd recommend the first things you do...

    Diesel fumes in cabin

There's a foam collar that seals between the bulk head and the heater box and another between the heater box and the plastic duct under the wing, if either of these have failed it could draw engine bay gasses into the cab. There's also a drain hole in the bottom of that duct too which should...
