P38A Soon to be leaving the fold

After 10 years owning a P38 I'm quite used to that feeling of uncertainty you get on every trip. Although I always got to where I was going without the need of a recovery truck ever in those 10 years. Of course there were more than a few times when I couldn't get it going so couldn't actually...

P38A Soon to be leaving the fold

It’s with very mixed feelings that I’ve decided to part with my Range Rover after almost 10 years of ownership. Bought in early 2009 with just over 50K on the clock it now has fewer than 118K. I’ve ordered a new car for early September delivery. The Range Rover is going to be either sold to...

Evoque Why the fcuk Does this exist..

There are billions of people on this rock and countless number of them have no taste, style or an original thought in their heads. That’s who buys one of these abortions.

    Other Range Rover Dragon Challenge

Agreed. I expect a P38 or L322 could do that as well.

    Range Rover Insurance.

I too am insured with Admiral. It pays to phone them and argue about the cost. They always end up dropping it. Well they have for us. We have our P38 2001 Vogue & Ford Focus Zetec insured. All insurers try and take the P if they can get away with it.

    sat nav instalation p38

Yo are better off using an aftermarket unit. I have the factory Sat Nav in my Vogue and it's almost useless today. I cannot find an updated MAP disc for it and it's not touch screen and doesn't accept postcodes.

P38A Any tips to get the serp belt back on?

Looking at the picture the belt isn't fully engaged in the alternator pulley multi-vees. Whenever I've changed or had to remove the belt on my thor I leave the tensioner pulley as the last pulley to get the belt on and I've never had difficulty with it.

    P38A Alloys.

    P38A Talking about keys

Both my keys have the same number on them. Only difference is one says key 1 and the other key 2.

    P38A Windscreen wipers

Extract from the owners manual page 77: NOTE: If the wiper system senses a low fluid level in the washer reservoir, then the programmed wash/wipe will only operate for as long as the button is pressed, i.e. there will be no timed wash and no additional 3 wipes.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Just back from Cornwall. A shade over 800 miles in a week. Only issue was on start up a couple of times it raised itself to offroad height. No idea why other than it was parked on a bit of a hill with camber as well. Almost 3 tanks of the amber liquid.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Regarding the sunroof recover, in my case it too was sagging down so I had to remove the blind to recover. While I know others have done this bit on their own I just grabbed someone for the remove and refit to the car stages. Much easier. Am now on holiday in a damp Cornwall enjoying the car.
