    Closure of Langdale Quest !!!!!

Yes, yes, I feel a little stupid. Actually, scrub that, I feel really stupid! As for Redhand's comments, they're very justified and they shall stay on my blog as a reminder of the day I forgot to check the internet or even phone to confirm all was ok. Plus side, I did get my money back from the...

    Closure of Langdale Quest !!!!!

Yes, I can confirm it is closed. We drove up there from London yesterday (22 Feb '09) after paying a £235 deposit last year. We were confronted by locked gates and a sign explaining why they've been shut down. See my blog post for further information: surryskingdom.co.uk » Blog Archive »...

    Freelander 2.5 V6 engine - HELP!

Thanks for the kind words. Vectra is ok but no match for the Freelander across the rough stuff

    Looking for an easy route......?!

Route it next to the speedo cable, that's the way I normally run cables through the bulk head.

    Freelander 2.5 V6 engine - HELP!

Nope, haven't owned a Freelander for some time now. I do miss it sometimes but I was getting tired of constant problems. Still have a V6 motor in the shape of a 3.2 litre Vectra GSi. Sounds nice, goes nice and drinks fuel like you wouldn't believe. I have to confess we do keep looking at the...

    Off Road Driving Experience

Sorry, couldn't resist. Like I said in my previous post, I reckon it's just making lots of noise because you're using it in a more extreme way. In my humble opinion there is nothing to worry about and I think the noise will go away after a few more trips into the field.

    Freelander 2.5 V6 engine - HELP!

At the time she was 4 years old, just over 40k miles on the clock. A few months after the repair she started losing water from the cooling system. It was time to PX her on a new car.

    Freelander 2.5 V6 engine - HELP!

Most places will change BOTH gaskets out regardless of how many have blown. I blew a HG on my V6 a while back and the price came to over £2000 including both HG's, Cam belts, tensioners, water pump etc. Was a LandRover garage though.

    Off Road Driving Experience

Could it be the animals munching and crunching on the feed? To be honest I would say the vehicle is not used to it and the noise will get easier the more you use it. Remember when off road you're using more of the suspension travel.

    Help a newbie!

The price will vary depending on the trim level. For instance the entry level model in good condition, private sale, you can expect around £2090. GS model would be worth around £200 more, £2290. The ES model would be worth around £2495. This is assuming you've had the...

    thinking about buying a freelander

Oi Oi Yella me old china, how's tricks. I always said I'd pop in from time to time to see how the troops are behaving. Some things never change do they? The child bride is doing good and I'm doing the child bride good too, which is nice. She'll be 30 in November  I'm driving a front...

    thinking about buying a freelander

My V6 Freelander was 5 years old with just over 30k miles when it blew a head gasket. The MG TF which has the same 1.8 litre K series engine suffers the same problem, premature head gasket failure. The K series engine hasn't got a bad reputation for nothing. I think you're just lucky with your...

    Ipod I-drive

How do they work? Is it hard wired into the stereo or does it use a radio transmitter to send a signal? My wife is looking at getting an iPod interface for our motor.

    thinking about buying a freelander

I have to agree with this lot, don't buy a petrol Freelander. Both the 4 cylinder 1.8 litre and V6 2.5 litre blow head gaskets on a regular basis. Diesel is the way to go for sure. They're a great car to drive, very capable off road too.

    Ipod I-drive

How can you make a tenner if your mate is buying them at £18 and you're selling them for £23.50? I'm confused, it just doesn't add up

It was a great day. You can either take your own 4x4 or rent one of theirs. We rented which gave us a feeling of no fear. Hope to get up their again soon.

It was a Freelander dressed up to look like a Nissan Patrol......I think! Nout wrong with that sound track in my opinion.
