im looking to buy a 2" lift and have noticed summet.....why do most 2" lift kits come with standard shocks surely they should come with 2" longer ones?

i know i know but i need to get it out my system...but perhaps slightly thinner tyres isnt such a bad idea, however i would like them pertruding the body just slightly..

so ive been having trouble withe my 2.5 petrol defender, it kept cutting out all the time, so iv had the carb numerous times cleaned it all out, replaced diaphragms, jets, floats, the list goes on and on and on and on...never occured to me to wack some more go go juice in it. cut a long story...

yeah will do ratty, took it for a spin today and its been absolutely fine! is there anyway to drain and clean the tank out without dropping it out the chassis? there must be some kind of a plug surely!? if not il just never let it get down to a quarter of a tank!

quick update, replaced the diaphragms on the carb, cleaned it all the jets and where the floats are in the carb as there was a lot of gunk hanging around, put it all back together and it ran fine, then it started cutting out in the mid range again (although not as bad this time) but i also...

cheers for that had a word with my mechanic today and he said it was definately the diaphragm causing the problems, will get that part and get back offroad! thanks again.

hi there, im having a spot of bother with a twin choke weber carb from a 1985 90 defender (2.5 petrol version) basically the engine runs fine on tickover and on full revs but in midrange just cuts out and dies (sounds like its being starved of something) I called the AA man and he reckons...

yeah cutting across the holes is what i thought and then wqeld them up again once its in place! saves a lot of time by having to take all the pedals out! cheers for advice

its the drivers side footwell that needs to be replaced anyone know a relatively quick way of doing this? i dont want to have to take the whole thing apart for the sake of a footwell! anyone know a quicker way to do it that the haynes manual suggests?
