    Well, still having problems stopping it, so it's back in the workshop and as a last resort I'm fitting a servo and pedal box from a series 3 , least it will behave it's self in modern driving conditions , some pics to follow , drivers wings off, pedals out, new pedal painted and refurbished...

    There can be 1 or 21 shims, the castings were never spot on , nor was the machining so to set the end float and or tighten the gear box they shimmed them out individually as they assembled them, looking good so far, brings back some memories them pics

    rite, iv phoned the parts man this morning, looks like i need a bigger pto shaft, the complete part, the adaptors are hard tool steel and as yer say stu, a lot of grunt thru the chipper wil shear it, needd to go direct with no chance of chatter then :) will order the stuff later ... hmmmm more...

    straight out the gun, cellulose paint, +10% thinners, had a polish first with wet and dry, the ally was primed with acid etch, 4 coats inside and out, then 4 buff cream coloured undercoats and 4 top coats, the hvlp deviblis gun i used was 300 quid it makes the difference , yer could see the...

    the grey one i use behind my tractor, just needs a respray now, winter hammered it, the other i use daily on the 90 for work, i have 2 others one with a shotblasting compressor on and the other with a generator mounted on and yes they tow fine one behind the other with linked wiring :)

    i was able to spray the whole thing inside and out with 3 coats all over using 5 ltrs, never used rollers , they always seem to leave tiny bubbles
