Yes Chassis are rotting on earlier ones & when you take one for a spin drive it quite hard & see if it has a sort of misfire, if so that will be oil seeping down the loom. theres a few things to check like on any motor your going to see but these are the kinda top two..

Sounds easy enough, one last thing though. Do I aim the road wheels straight for the adjustment or like tracking have the steering wheel straight?

Oh I didn't think of measuring them & presumed it was of the same spec of what I removed. Are there different sizes then? Is drag link an easy job or would you recomend taking it to a decent tyre/wheel fitting centre & let them do it? Thanks again..

Hoping one of you guys can help with this? Changed the steering damper for a Terrafirma one on my 200Tdi & taking it out for a test spin I notice the steering is a tad off centre.. Not much but enough to p*** me off. Whats gone wrong? Thanks Ian

I have just changed the standard damper on my Disco 1 for a De-Carbon one. The job was easy enough with no dramas but when I took it for a test drive the steering wheel is a tad off centre. Not by much but enough to notice. Whats gone wrong? :confused: Thanks for your help Ian.
