Thanks everyone for the posts. The ignition switch was faulty. Tapping it on the side with keys in and on, made the ignition lights flicker on. Replaced the switch and all is well. Cheers again. Vitamins.

It didn't start when I put the jump leads on. Will check connections around ignition barrel. Cheers

Cheers for that, I immediately thought battery as well and checked terminals. I attached cables again, the lights did not come on but the engine turns over fast as if trying to start (ruling out battery). When the lights came on (only once), it started and ran ok. Maybe I shouldn't have turned...
