So it seems the system has fault warning as a safe guard, how strange it ALL failed at once. :rolleyes:

But we still have not managed to establish the cause of the low oil level in the first place, the OP keeps slipping in fresh bits to his tale of woe but it still does not add up for me. :rolleyes: I'm not familiar with the D4 but surely when the ignition is turned on all warning lights/ digital...

If the oil pump failed a warning light would have come on indicating no oil pressure, me still thinks it was cockpit error. ;)

Now if you'd said that in your first post you might have got some better answers. ;)

Apparently you can do a check on the oil level at anytime, according to the drivers manwell. :rolleyes: Just out of interest, how many miles had you done since the last service before your engine failed, and please read and take in my previous reply. ;)

To be honest with you I think this is a cockpit error, surely oil pressure warning light would have been flashing a long time before the engine seized, to use up all the engine oil it must have been smoking badly or dripping oil where ever you parked up :rolleyes:
