Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

Just wanted to reaffirm... The 90°C reading was at idle after a long run, as in, immediately after. I believe it would have dropped further if I'd sat and watched at tickover.

Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

The higher reading shown was going uphill with higher revs as you say. I can see it drop after this, whether resuming normal 'flat' driving or of course going down hill ! I'm still wondering whether there's any mischief going on somewhere. Good idea to try a dip thermometer. I've tested with a...

Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

Thanks very much. Well, I feel I've addressed everything possible to protect my work truck from unnecessary destruction (engine/cooling wise) ...! But there's always something that could be overlooked. My worries weren't really due to symptomatic troubles, just what I was seeing on the gauges...

Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

Thank you... I'm not sure about adjustments on the VDO. I hope I'm over thinking it, and that all is well!!

Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

Standard viscous mate. Standard 88°C Wax stat from LR. Do you see any issues potentially? I think I need a good, flat motorway run, see what occurs. Maybe I'm being overtly cautious ?

Is this normal? (200tdi Defender) VDO

Hi all, I've had some helpful hints already, despite me having posted in the wrong sections! Re; VDO temp gauge newly installed. Does this reading look ok to you guys? I've had a complete overhaul of cooling system parts. Thought I'd top it off with a gauge showing °C. Pic shows uphill driving...

Technical query (am I in the right section?)...am I overheating??

Apologies, I'm a newbie on here. I introduced myself in the right area but didn't know where to put a technical/coolant system query. From the top, briefly- Bought a 200tdi Defender Hi Cap (1993) for work purposes, a couple of months ago. Fantastic all round. Drove the 2 hours home with the...

Introduction and query if I may?

Thanks so much. Yes, I'll pop something in the relevant area of the forum. Big thanks mate. Didn't mean to get anyone else as neurotic as I am !

Introduction and query if I may?

Thank you Turk, Yes, all that lovely condensation that doesn't appear to EVER want to 'dry out'. So, just to reiterate, would you not have any concerns?? It takes the usual ten mins to warm up. Good heater. Sits around 90°C until you push it, then on an uphill 'battle' can be seen around...

Introduction and query if I may?

Sorry all. Trying to navigate the new site. Last post shows temp gauge under uphill drive. First, original post is at idle.

Introduction and query if I may?

Hello all. Concise intro, I've gone into Landy ownership from many a Japanese truck. Yup, it's a different box of cheese huh?! A few quid down the road after purchase... I'm loving my 200tdi Defender, but something's been bugging me. I'm neurotic about overheating. It's a 1993, has been very...
