    Slacken off the adjuster. Put one shoe in position, the other with only one end located. Put springs in place, and grab free end of second shoe with mole grips or similar and lever it out and into place.

    How to top up transfer box without a pump

    Halfords sell an oil transfer syringe 200cc capacity. This should be enough to top up oil. It could be used to do oil change but would need lots of refilling, ok if you have the time

    13pin towing plug

    A genuine Land Rover 13pin plug with wiring loom for td5 cost (a few years ago) just over £100 from main dealer, and took a couple of hours to fit. No cutting or splicing cables required.

    A common cause is mud and crud inside drum from off road use. Whacking drum a few times with hammer will release brake. To cure disconnect propshaft, remove drum, and clean inside it

    According to Haynes manual, cable to horn should be purple with black trace. On late models black earth should also come from horn, on older earth is through horn body. Take a look behind grill for cable
