Also worth changing the slave cylinder bracket only cost around £8, as its been said before I have changed the cylinders & the bracket and its like a new car!! Martin

I hope you havent paid them!!!! If those muppets had the head off they would have reset the timing or at least noticed this was out of wack. Is your idle lumpy?? if so you have slighty bent valves due to the timing being out (depends on number of teeth out). Anyway glad to hear its all sorted...

Bad air lock?? Try bleeding the 8mm nut on the steal pipe at the left hand side of the engine/ air box or unscrew the temp sensor a little to make sure there is water there! and not a lovely big air bubble. also have a look at Rover, Land Rover, Range Rover and MG, Warning - K Series coolant...

I would personally put a new gasket one it, not that expensive. Better safe than sorry! Martin

OK this is getting on my nerves. The part that is fitted is YAD000080 could this be the wrong part supplied? or has LR changed it to a newer design? as it looks nothing like the one I took of orginally. The one that I took of was the old copper wire contact type. Dealer keeps ordering...

Can you not open the bonnet by gaining access from the under side? ie take the sump guard off and pop the bonnet? before smashing a window :D Martin

That's what I thought, but when I spoke to the local dealer where I got the part from (workshop manager) he said about measuring the ohms. But then again he didn't no about a filter in the fuel tank!!!! so me thinks he doesnt work on the freelander! (I could be wrong). IF the weather clears up...

I was fitting a new fuel filter to the pump assembly and I accidently broke the old sender unit, but before I changed the unit over for the new one all was working ok - - sorry I changed it now, but I must admit it has a lot more power and it ticks over better than before Martin

Nope only fits one way, and I have swapped the wires around. Faulty unit maybe??? Martin

Replaced the fuel filter on my 2003 3dr, 1.8. Problem now is the fuel gauge reads full! and its nearly empty. Got new sender today from the dealers and still the same problem what i'm I doing wrong??? Any ideas Martin

2002 1.8l 3 dr freelander, above the rear fog lights switch there is a blanking switch plate behind it is a wiring connection is this for the front fogs? and if so where is the other end of the wire :D Thanks in advance Marty
