    Clutch and Flywheel

Is changing the clutch something I could take on, or would recommend getting my mechanic to do it?

    Clutch and Flywheel

Hi All, so my clutch has started to slip. Going on holiday in 12 days towing a caravan so feel I should get this sorted. I have been advised that I should change my dual mass flyer wheel at the same time, should I? Not keen to throw the cash away but have any of you had this advice before. It's...

    Sunroof wont drop down

That's what I thought, I'll take the whole thing apart at the weekend to see if I can free up the mechanism. I see it's possible to replace the cogs in the motor with a little effort, will look at this too. Many thanks

    Sunroof wont drop down

Hi All I have now been struck by the sunroof challenge! I have read all the threads out there but my issue is a little different. The motor works fine, the sunroof opens ok, when closing I do get the clicking noise but with a little assistance the roof slides forward but then wont drop down to...

    Wheels & Tyres

LOL! Er, nope, we're lucky to get a frost here! Heading to the alps in a couple of weeks, seems you have to have them by law!

    Freelander 1 Smoking freelander

That's logical as it only started to happen when I fitted the EGR valve, I just avoid cruising at 2k revs :-)

    Freelander 1 Smoking freelander

Thanks The Mole. I shall take a look at my temp gauge when out next to see how high it gets. :-)

    Wheels & Tyres

Super pleased so far. They are smooth, quiet and cool, great recommendation. I have ordered some 7mm spacers as the clearance is quite small, some how I need to be able to squeeze some snow chains on here. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1B-OWg5FWtgx5jfy454a6OHt28sWAgtLf...

    Wheels & Tyres

Hi All Thought I'd update you on the tyres. Had the 225/65 R17 Geolandar's fitted today. Love them :) Cheers Nodge for the recommendation. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RbObXbVkacOLSNfDmqwEJbf8lJONhEk2 https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CNJc_9F47yHPiR1keXdX9U-vrgjFIiOs...

    Freelander 1 Smoking freelander

For what it's worth, after full service, new crank case filter (the separator upgrade) fitting EGR bypass and having a remap I too now have the mysterious 2k misfire and more blue smoke and lumpy on start up. Still pulls like a train though. But misfire was not there before the work was done...

Freelander 1 What mileage is your Freelander 1 on?

    My TD4 is now at 100,000 :-)

Like the look of yours dwalsh, I've always liked black alloys. Makes me wonder if I could squeeze some 235's on? :-)

    Wheels & Tyres

Thanks. Mostly road with some green laning and a drive down to the alps for some snow and ice in March! Tyre guys I use said the 65 profile should fit fine, just wanted something a little chunkier without going crazy

    Wheels & Tyres

Hi All Seems to be a standard debate, I have searched the forum for answers but cant find any conclusive results. I have narrowed choice down to two options: Tyres: Yokohama Geolandar A/T General Grabber AT3 I have 2 sets of alloys wheels - which ones should I add these tyres too? 15" 17"...

    Freelander 1 TD4 remap

I heard this was happening, typical!

    Freelander 1 TD4 remap

Thought I'd pop a quick update on this thread. Service completed, including crank breather. Fitted EGR bypass and managed to clear out inlet manifold! The Hippo ran much better than before. Went for a remap with Wessex Tuning in Bournemouth. The difference is huge, like driving a new car. So...

    Brakes, official part or aftermarket?

Thanks loads, was thinking the aftermarket brakes would be fine and i've used mintex pads in the past, think that's where I'll put my money. Mount for the price seems sensible to go for the originals. Cheers
