For any of you thinking stripping an engine is beyond you......

This is a great series of videos about stripping an engine by someone who has never done it before and just takes their time. The back story is that the car has been mapped, the engine has blown and the dealer is refusing to touch the car so she decides to strip it down herself and video the...

    Series with Chevy Suburban engine

OK bear with me, this guy has done some interesting things, its pity there is not more technical detail on how. He's claiming 5x the original HP of 70 so around 350. Look out for the engine data to a tablet, discs all round and rear A/C. And the grill has not been moved forward!

    Bonnet spare wheel cover

I'm looking for ideas. My bonnet mounted spare fills up with water and now ice which dumps onto my screen once I reach 50, ok I can see one obvious answer but I got a used cover off e-bay, its really good quality but its no use as it balloons up and I can't see where I'm going. Yesterday I...

    Window catches

I'm about to order a set of new door tops. Mine is a 1970 S2A. At the moment it has S3 type plastic catches under the windows. I'm trying to decide whether to opt for the same or fit the S2 catches above the glass. My choice is about usefullness, safety and security. We do quite a bit of...

    Inner tube size

I'm just about to buy a new tube. I run 235/85 16s and the tubes are around £20, but the 7.50 - 8 x 16 tubes are around £10. Are these really the same tubes or am I missing something here (and not just £10!). What size tubes are others running? thanks

    Heater valve

I have the S2A type heater tap - the brass one with the little handknob. Its starting to leak and there's no obvious way to get it apart. Its 1/2 BSP and the same as an early Morris Minor. Anyone know how these are made? The knob comes off but how does the spindle come out?

    Fan belt wear

My Perkins seems to be quite hard on fan belts, its a single 1/2" belt and a 70A alternator. The alternator pulley doesn't get a lot of contact angle and with the low revving engine the belt needs quite a lot of tension or it slips. I think I'm getting 6000 miles out of a belt if I replace when...
