I did, thanks for the advice though, I’ll take a look at the others and if they’re as tough, I’ll invest in a puller. In hindsight, three hours was probably a bit of hyperbole!

Ha ha, yep, don’t worry, everything I’m doing is going to be fully checked by a qualified mechanic with tonnes of LR experience. I’m just taking a first crack before handing it over to the experts. It has no MOT at the moment so will need to go through that before I start using it too.

Hi, just wondering what this black coating/covering on the chassis? Looks like it’s been there for a while. In some places it’s sticky/greasy in others, dry and cracked. It covers the chassis and is also on the bulkhead and in the engine cavity. Does it need to be removed before I recoat it...

Thanks guys. Rob, where do I find out what rim width I have? Apologies for the stupid question, I’m new to all this! I’m not fussed about ride height, it’s a SWB. The roads I’m going to be driving it on are also only 30-40mph limit anyway so the additional speed isn’t a priority.
