Locking wheel nut tool- crap quality

Bought some locking wheel nuts for the wheels and tried to remove one the other day and the pins on the tool bent. Only took the old wheel off and put these on so the tools has been used 10 times. they were £32 when I bought them (with the nuts) so not cheap. Contacted the original supplier...

S3- fuel pick up pipe hose size?

Moving my facet fuel pump from the splash guard to near the tank as its too high above the tank and is taking time to pick up when in lower gears (assume getting air in the system) so hopefully moving the pump much lower will solve the problem, and the splash guard is being replaced so didn't...

    Dash binnacle brass fixing, S3

After turning the Landy on its side I've lost one of the binnacle fixings (i'd replaced the the set screws with a stainless one 1/4unf x 1/2 long) but I've also lost the brass thing that sits in the back part of the dash binnacle. Is it called a ferrule?? From memory its about 1/2 long and has...

    Avon Rangemaster types????

Looking at these on some refurbished rims but now need the tyres. Are the 7.50R16 which have a chunky thread the same as 7.50 80 16 which on some pictures look more like car road tyres? the 80 16 are cheaper (£91 fitted on ATS website) but the 7.50R16 are over £100 and up to silly numbers...

    Series wheel types

Bought 4 wheels (5.5 wide) so I can put 7.50x16 tyres on as the rears on mine have cracked and need changing anyway (currently on Disco S1 steels). Had them shot blasted and when putting the red oxide noticed one is different from the other 3. Three have the inner and outer sections welded but...

Just bought one in very good condition but not glass or any other parts needed to fit other than the top hinges that attach to the door, but not the pin or the hinge holder that fits above the flap inside the truck. Also need one of the guides on the side where the locking mechanism goes...

Mine isn't attached plus I dont have a hot/cold cable which I guess happened when the engine was changed to a V8. I'm going to put a TX1 heater control vale and cable in but want to secure the heater control levers. Any idea on the thread on these. It seems to be the same as the steering cowl...

Series 3 Temp gauge reading high

Series 3, 1974 with a 3.5 Rover V8. Changed the temp sensor as the connector had snapped off (garage did it when messing with the SU's) so bought this, which is compatible with the 1971 P6B engine it on. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191598899367 Now reads just under the red and creeps into the red...

    tyres (again and again)

2 rears starting to shows signs of cracks. Currently on Bridgestone Duellers on Disco 1 steel wheels on a S3 SWB with a P6 V8 and 3.5 RR diffs. Tyres are 245/70/16 but would like bigger profile to fill out the arches better. Was going to go down to 235 with an 80 profile but 85 seems to be...

    Alternator bracket woes

Changing the coolant hoses and steel connector pipes (pipes were getting near end of life and the steel pipes I could see were rusting badly hence the colour of the water removed and the hose to the carb block was completely blocked with sludge) and struggled to get to the water pump inlet from...

    S3 towing capability

Will I be OK towing a 933kg 5m long caravan with an 1974 S3? Its got a 3500 P6 V8 but worried about braking and the length of the van v truck. Caravan isn't braked as its a 1990 model. Planning on towing it 50 miles to Silverstone Classic at the end of the month. FFG

    AVM FWH's - still leaking!!!

Right, one was leaking so bought a refurb kit (proper AVM) but its still dripping out of one bolt on the inner side of the hub. I've tried to tweek the nuts but they are tight. I think I need to get it off, dry it all off and put a sliver of gasket sealant on the gasket, then put it back on...

    Heater control

Currently don't have any heater control (ie hot/cold) as there isn't a cable, but then then isn't anything at the engine end to control it so would this work if I put it on the hose inline where the hot water feeds into the heater matrix...

Anyone have a picture of the profile of the rubber as dont want to pay £25+p&p as they should be available from a trim supplier like Woolies. Be good to know the length of each too if possible - they must be about 500mm i guess. FFG

    Bonnet rivet size

I've bought a bonnet with the frame removed and red oxide primed so need to put it all back together. What size are the original rivets? I think they are 3/16 x 7/16 long - the solid aluminium domed head ones. FFG

    series 3 grill

I've got a grey painted grill but it doesn't have the black and white section at the top where the LR logo is. Is the black part a piece of plastic that just sits in the oval and I paint the Land Rover words white? If so can I buy the black section separately? FFG

Any idea what this is from?

Any idea what this is? Found it on the chassis by the battery tray and it looks like it came of a brown wire which disappears under the alternator - must have come of when I tightened the belt as I had to take the battery out to get to the alternator bolts. Its an original petrol but now with...
