    Series 3 Winch bumper WS4x4

Has anyone bought something from WS4x4? I am looking at their Series 3 winch bumper and was wondering if anyone had a review for the company or their products.

Series 2 Dixon-Bate articulated Land Rover

The Dixon-Bate articulated Land Rover was one of many conversions. Does anybody know if there are any out there, in a more or less restored condition?

Series 3 Truck cab protection guard

I have been trying to find some sort of protection guard for the back of my 88' S3 cab. There are heaps of dog guards around, but I am looking for something to protect the cab from any (accidentally) moving cargo, something along these lines. I want to keep the hood on. Does anybody know if LR...

    Series 3 Old Smokey - rotary rake: 0 - 1

Last year Old Smokey got treated to a stunning new engine (diesel). About a month after I picked it up from the wizards at GroundZero 4WD, I was happily chugging along a forest road when I bumped into a rotary rake. Well, I wasn't doing the bumping, but the rake did. Result? Not good at all...

    Series 3 Volt meter/oil pressure gauge meter/clock?

I am considering fitting Old Smokey with three auxiliary meters a la Smiths; oil pressure, volt meter and a clock in the same style. Could anyone put me in the right direction of a seller?

    Series 3 Digital Wireless Speedometer?

Has anybody got any experience of the Demon Tweeks GPS Digital Wireless Speedometer? Not that you suffer any real risk of going too fast with a Series Landy, but still! I thought I'd put one in, slightly cheaper than the OE stuff...

    Series 3 Tractor - Landy 1-0

So I had a slight altercation with a tractor carrying a rotary rake last summer. The tractor won, but it is amazing how the new dents and holes matched the general condition of Old Smoky... o_O

    Series 3 Block heater

So, Old Smoky is soon getting a new and shiny 2.25 diesel engine fitted. Since it can get a bit nippy up the khyber where I am (read: -25 during winter, and that's degrees C :D), I was thinking I could fit a block heater or something similar. Is it at all possible? If so, how? Any specific make...

Has anybody fitted a Series slickshift? If so, what's your thoughts on it?

    FFR Direction Finder, or...?

So, I was trawling the interweb and found this. What are we looking at?

Series 3 Has anyone got a 2 1/4 diesel engine to spare?

So, as I mentioned in this thread, I have a knackered engine. That is, Old Smoky does. I am now on the lookout for an engine to refurbish. My local Land Rover wizard, Ground Zero 4WD, has contacted several suppliers in the UK, and I thought I'd give them a helping hand. If anyone has a standard...

    The Defender replacement

So, this is probably the umpteenth time this subject comes up. I just wanted to let the forum know that Autoexpress very recently published a very interesting feature on the Defender replacement.

Series 3 Hm... I should know this, but...?

...what's the indicated (circled) thing for, in the enclosed images? Yes, I know, I should know, and the knowledge is probably out there, but... over to you.

Series 3 Leak down test, rebuild, etc

So, the heart and soul of my S3 diesel 88" 1977 is of course suffering from any well-known disease known to a Land Rover that has seen some hardship over the years. It smokes and it drinks oil, and it leaks both here and there, and a reliable Landy mechanic wants to carry out a leak-down test on...

Series 2 Martin Walters Dormobile 1971

I found this on the Swedish correspondence to Ebay. The number to the seller, mrs Jeanette Persson, is +46 73 544 01 16. The text runs: This cool car from 1971 was bought by its current owner in London 1978, and has been with the same owner in Sweden ever since. It's been on a return trip to...

Series 3 Best way of fixing damage to panels?

So, a previous owner of my S3 88" 1977 left his mark. What is the best way of fixing this? Obviously, it does not need to be showroom finish, but I want the job done properly. However, even the most skilled bodyshop mechanic might need some ideas on how to sort Birmabright damaged this way.

Series 3 How much paint for an 88' truck cab?

I am thinking of having my 88' pickup/truck cab resprayed (by a professional that is, I am not doing it myself!). I intend to provide the paint and since the car is "light blue", I assume that I need some marine blue paint. Is it (more or less) the right shade, and how many litres of paint would...

I am thinking of fitting a new binnacle mount and a console dash. Any reviews/experience of these two products?

Series 3 Wipers dead, temp gauge dead, fuel gauge dead

So, an interesting problem occurs intermittently with my 1977 88" SWB diesel. My wipers suddenly stop working (including the windscreen washer pump), together with the temp gauge and the fuel gauge. This is not much of a problem when it isn't raining, but when it is, and when you're cruising...

Series 3 Rattling sound, black smoke, oil guzzling...

Sometimes, my 1977 S3 diesel 88" truck cab pulls off a spectacular show. While driving, a slightly hammering/rattling sound is suddenly heard from the engine and the car starts to smoke like a Russian tank on smokescreen duty. The smoke is blueish/whitish, wrapping the countryside in smoke, but...
