Many of the actual gears are different as well as other internal parts, however if you are doing the lot it makes sense to update.

I rebuilt mine to suffix D when I did mine, you will probably find most of the parts that need to be replaced to update the box are probably worn already. There are only a couple of parts that you cannot buy genuine. You may be able to glean some of the parts needed and errors that can be made...

I rebuilt mine last year, you can buy relatively complete rebuild kits and its not rocket science but you will need a press. Some larger parts are sometimes unavailable so it really depends on what is wrong with it.

I have an air injection pump on my 2.6L its supposed to reduce smoke by injecting air into the exhaust and also help reduce burnt valves. It was part of the early emissions controls. I have no idea if it does much or not, mine is slightly different from yours but suspect it does the same thing

Again from memory it is not reusable, you need a couple so you can set up and then a new one for final assembly

From memory you have to take that circlip off and on a few times to set the clearances, unless you are very lucky and get it first time. I don't remember putting it on to be the problem, it was getting it off that was difficult.

That looks like the plug just above and to the right of centre, if so that is exactly what I need, I can pull a little more of the loom forward and repair the rear now, knowing my plug will actually reach its counterpart, thankls!
