Series 3 Rebuild Series 3 Suffix B gearbox as Suffix D

If you cannot the Italian ones from synchro in the link I sent are pretty decent.

Series 3 Rebuild Series 3 Suffix B gearbox as Suffix D

Many of the actual gears are different as well as other internal parts, however if you are doing the lot it makes sense to update.

    Overnighter Camper Trailer Build

Are you still married after that, I think the instructions make it very clear that you are not supposed to put it in an oven you will be eating stuff from.

Series 3 Rebuild Series 3 Suffix B gearbox as Suffix D

I rebuilt mine to suffix D when I did mine, you will probably find most of the parts that need to be replaced to update the box are probably worn already. There are only a couple of parts that you cannot buy genuine. You may be able to glean some of the parts needed and errors that can be made...

    Series 2a fairey overdrive issues

I rebuilt mine last year, you can buy relatively complete rebuild kits and its not rocket science but you will need a press. Some larger parts are sometimes unavailable so it really depends on what is wrong with it.

    1979 Santana Air Injection?

I have an air injection pump on my 2.6L its supposed to reduce smoke by injecting air into the exhaust and also help reduce burnt valves. It was part of the early emissions controls. I have no idea if it does much or not, mine is slightly different from yours but suspect it does the same thing

    Freelander not starting at all??

I thought a freelanderer not starting would be thought of as "a result" and more environmentally friendly than burning it.

    S3 109 Safari project......

At least you are cracking on, mine is on hold at the end of the queue for available time, and money, at the moment

    Series 3 maltese cross grille

I seem to be in a minority as I too prefer the plastic grille and that is what I fitting to mine

    Series 2 Retirement

Also depends on where you are, postage would cost more than the price of some of those parts. You may get rid of some to local punters, even on here, if they can see the actual condition of the bits. eg I might be interested in the rad panel if it was in decent condition and I could collect...

N/A 2.5 DIESEL - DRIVING EXPERIENCE- WHAT ARE THEY LIKE?

Oh dear, I thought I had, maybe I am just a bit slow :p

N/A 2.5 DIESEL - DRIVING EXPERIENCE- WHAT ARE THEY LIKE?

I had a 90 with the NA 2.5 years ago. I would have to agree with the above, it was slow. It would work up to about 50-55 on a decent road but don't bother trying to overtake, you need two miles of clear road to get round anything. It would go up hills but even slower. As you can see from the...

THAT circlip on the primary shaft

Again from memory it is not reusable, you need a couple so you can set up and then a new one for final assembly

THAT circlip on the primary shaft

From memory you have to take that circlip off and on a few times to set the clearances, unless you are very lucky and get it first time. I don't remember putting it on to be the problem, it was getting it off that was difficult.

    Series Rear body wiring plug

That looks like the plug just above and to the right of centre, if so that is exactly what I need, I can pull a little more of the loom forward and repair the rear now, knowing my plug will actually reach its counterpart, thankls!

    Series Rear body wiring plug

Yep, the other end is what I am looking for, my harness is pretty chopped around at the back so very few lengths that I am sure of to work from. I have a few meters of all the right coloured wires so will repair it all correctly. What I don't have, cos I didn't take a pic that showed it, is the...

    Series Rear body wiring plug

I am just about to repair the wiring to the rear lights as someone has cut and bodged it badly in the past. What I am not sure of because I don't have a pic with enough detail (Duh) is how much the loom to the rear sticks out from the chassis member on the drivers side down the side of the...

    605934 rear step help

I have the original tow bar for the series with the angle iron reinforcing, I had to make this reinforcing because the old one was in some state. I have taken the new one off and fitted the step and will eventually cut off the corner and reweld the part on to accommodate the step plate. The new...

    605934 rear step help

I seem to have sorted out all the issues apart from the step going to far down due the stop being short. I hate repro parts that don't fit well. The Paddocks copy is OK but isn't as good as the original, nor as well made. It looks like I'll need to weld on an extension to the rear stop ( there...

    605934 rear step help

I just fitted the repro folding rear step to my S3, got it on although I will have to do some mods to the towing bracket and tank mount, these are not unexpected. However it doesn't lie horizontal when folded down and the "down" stop is too short and the little reinforcing stop on the bracket...
