Yes it's possible of course depends on whats been done to your wiring over the years. Mine had a cut out switch fitted so when you used the cut out switch the radio lost its live feed and also the memory. I just took a live from before the cut out through a fuse to the radio live.

Just found answer in my original owners manual ( duh ) apparently only fitted for Australian market

Vin plates are ok but they want chassis no and he dosent like that the now are not all in line. I have found a couple of pics online that are similar to mine it's just a case of getting info of how they were done in 1984 was it hand stamped if so they may all be like that then he would be happy
