Freelander 1 Headlights Rear Door Strange Behaviour idk...

Thanks andy. So I'll be wanting a 5 door CCU and its corresponding key fob (fobs)? Looks like there are clips on the underside of the CCU. Does it just unclip from the rear of the fusebox?

Yes, I'm thinking the CCU maybe having a crisis. They seem to be fairly cheap 2nd hand. Is it very envolved just swapping it out for another?

Yep.Removed the piggy back adaptor and replaced the original fuse. Still acting up! I've noticed that sometimes the rear tailgate makes a noise when you unlock the car with one press. ie: just to unlock the drivers door. It's all a bit wierd...

Freelander 1 Headlights Rear Door Strange Behaviour idk...

Hi. Yes I've inserted a piggyback blade fuse adaptor into the left hand main beam circuit to supply a relay for the spotlights. The lights on alarm is working correctly. The tailgate release is working correctly. Something else I've just noticed is the tailgate lock makes a "machine gun" type of...

Freelander 1 Headlights Rear Door Strange Behaviour idk...

Morning all. 2003 TD4 Kalahari 5 door. When I turn on my headlights the rear door unlocks. If I then switch the lights on to main beam the rear door opens as if someone had operated the latch. This could make night time driving a tiresome buiness having to stop and close the rear door all the...

Freelander 1 Rear door open or shut? Who knows...

I think I've fixed it! The metal loop that's fixed to the door frame had some pretty bad looking wear marks in it. I took it off, turned it round and re-attached it. Now the door shuts and the light goes out. Just like a fridge. ;) As for the alarm we'll have to wait and see but so far so good...

Freelander 1 Rear door open or shut? Who knows...

Cheers! I'll try the bonnet switch and see what happens. I don't know if it's related bit the alarm has now started going off at random intervals. My neighbours love me...

Freelander 1 Rear door open or shut? Who knows...

Hi folks! My five door Freelander 1 has developed a fault with the rear door (at least, I think that's where the problem lies). The car seems to think the door is open all the time even when it's quite obviously shut! Does anyone know how the car determines the state of the rear door? Is there...

Thanks folks! I don't think a USB charger will cause any problems there then.

    Mysterious connections in the fusebox...

Hi all, Freelander 1 TD4 2003 At the top of the fusebox are three male spade connectors grouped together in their own little enclosure. I've used two of them to power a USB phone charger (they didn't seem to be doing anything else) and thought afterwards "maybe I should check on those". Try as...
