Been using tractor universal oil in my 300 TDI. Is it ok to use it in the transfer gearbox.? It is 15w 30 and has API GL4 which is what Haynes manual says it should have.

the universal joint on front prop shaft has failed at transfer box end. anyone tell me the part I need and best place to get one. 1998 300 tdi manual. cheers.

Anyone done a diy windscreen replacement. I have my old disco scrapper so need to swap windscreen from old to recent disco.Is it a job a diyer could tackle?

Looks like the clutch is going on the 300 disco.[ revs going up when hard accelerating but no speed increase].Just looked on Paddocks page and they have replacement clutch for about £150.00.Are these clutches ok? I only do about 5 k miles per year and occasionally tow a caravan.

I've got rid of the cat [dpf filter] and put the Defender down pipe and complete new exhaust on the Disco. Just wondering if its worth taking the filter in for scrap? Anyone know what its made of?

Just got a decat defender pipe for the disco . Im hoping it will help the revs pick up a bit quicker and get the disco moving at low revs. Do I need to fit a gasket at the manifold end ? There was nothing that came with the pipe.

I bought my 98 300 tdi es disco from a friend a few weeks ago with a full mot. He told me the garage had had to mess with the abs to get the light to go out to pass the mot. Now I have noticed the light goes out but sometimes comes back on while driving.The brakes seem to work the same as before...

I have bought a 98 disco 300 as my 94 was rotten and tatty. Its a manual and it seems a bit sluggish even when compared to my old auto disco.I want to swap my delphi lift pump of the old disco on to the new so have ordered a new gasket . Will I need new olives for the pipes or will the old ones do ?

Trying to fit new rear shocks on my disco 1 . They have given two rubber bushes and three washers. I can't work out how the washers go. No instructions and the picture on the box looks different to what they gave me. I suspect the washer with the large diameter hole is for the top mount but...

I need a new ignition barrel. Does anyone know if the part no stc 1435 is right for an early auto 300 tdi.

When I turn the key I only get a click, but if I leave ignition on and run a wire from the starter solenoid to the battery she starts. What do you think it could be? Its a 94 auto 300 tdi without the spider unit. A mate suggested just putting a switch on the dash bypassing the other stuff...
