    2.5na Diesel lift pump type

Lasted just a month with not much use. This time stripped all pipes off from tank to pump and filter and found that the fuel tank pipes had been fitted the wrong way round so the return was going to the lift pump and was full of crap from bottom of tank. The proper pipe to lift pump has a gauze...

    2.5na Diesel lift pump type

Just for any future looks at this thread - The lift pump was a series 2a / 3 pump AC Delco could only find a britpart one to replace but has solved the problem. Will see how long it lasts. Was going to get a service kit for the original pump but the linkages were all well worn.

    2.5na Diesel lift pump type

1986 2.5na Power Steering pump seized

Pump seized and snapped belt. Does anyone know if driving it without the pump or any fluid in it will cause any further damage or strain on the power steering box? Any recommendations on replacement pumps just had look on greedbay about £140 for aftermarket pump. Cheers Rob

    Front wheel bearings water ingress

The last ones I got were the harder plastic ones and did seem to be a really good fit, water still got in somehow though. I did find with these though they were single use as on removal they split. The metal series ones turned up today so will give them a go, just waiting for the waterproof...

    Front wheel bearings water ingress

I put new front Timken wheel bearings in 2 years ago and just checking before MOT they are totally shot. I wade almost daily during a couple of months in the winter as live the other side of a ford so expect water gets in. I did use a load of PTFE tape when I put the rubber hub cap on to try a...

    LT230 Transfer box refurb

Got the front bearing out no problem as suggested. The bearing though does not look too bad but the small gears on the shaft that came out are burred at the end so I suspect this is what was making the noise under deceleration. It also feels that the difflock is jammed nothing seems to move in...

    LT230 Transfer box refurb

No oil leak and not a great deal of play but enough to see it when I was checking for play in the UJ's. Maybe its something worse than the end bearings then or I have noticed it before leaking has started (hopefully) The noise was still present in neutral with engine off and rolling downhill...

    LT230 Transfer box refurb

Looks like front output bearings are shot was making a clicking noise on deceleration and on closer inspection does appear to have some play in it. Fairly recently fitted a recon Ashcroft LT77 gearbox and at the same time fitted a new input shaft and bearings to the transfer box so hope no...

    Exhaustively searching through exaust.

Have a look on Rimmer Bros website they have pictures that help identify which one you have. I got an aftermarket complete set for my 86 Def 90 five years ago and just changed the centre pipe. For my 2.5NA there was a choice of 2 that would fit I went for tail pipe out the side which was...

    Seized 90 drivetrain

Park on the level with handbrake off and go underneath and see if you can move the handbrake drum at all, should rock back and forth with the play in the diffs / gearbox. Mine used to seize up with rust and other crud collected in the drum.
