Take it for a blast first - the DPF should self clean and if this isn't happening, it won't help. Before you spend 5k, try a DPF cleaner - we use Tunap at work and it works well. It might not sort your problem, but its worth a try...... Or try a different garage..... tests will be very anal...

do it yourself if its shafts and members (snigger) about £70 and 5 bolts per side to undo..... thats for 2 shafts and 2 drive flanges. undo the 5 bolts on the flange, and the shaft just pulls out

What James said. When my shafts went, I got a horrible grinding noise s the shaft spun in the flange......
