    Defender 90 200TDi value

If it helps, I bought my '94 200tdi, 130k for £3,000, bulkhead rotten at the top, needed new chassis and any place you'd expect to find rot then it was there, though fantastic engine and mechanically sound. I learnt that the initial outlay isn't where the money goes, it's the new swivel...

Locking wheel nuts for Defender 90 white Steels

I had some like this on mine... http://www.flatdoguk.com/locking-wheel-nuts-%26-key-kit---steel-wheels~1207 ... one thing that sprung to mind was to hide the unlocking bit as defenders are not all that secure, but then I reckon I'd think myself lucky if all they nicked was the wheels.

    Wiper Woes

Sounds similar to my wiper problem that ended with smoke coming out of the left side of the dash, my wipers were always pathetic, new wiper motor and they almost feel modern - install was easy but you have to make sure the motor is set to start with a push, not pull, simple mod to fix.

    Defender door

I would contact Land Rover customer services, nicely jump up and down a bit - I had a Freelander 2 that had a sensor failure after 4 years and it went into limp home mode, I was quoted an extraordinary amount by the dealer to diagnose and was not too impressed - I went to LR directly and they...

    It's raining heavily....

My inside gutters did the same, strangely I never thought to check them before setting off :( I then replaced the seals on the alpine windows, normally a patient person but that job challenged me, the gutters are dry now but in hindsight I'd have preferred the wet thigh than take on that job...

    Cab Reflections

I had never really noticed it and it'd never bothered me till I read this post, now find it distracting and it irritates me, cheers!!! :(

    1987 110 swivel bearings

No idea if this will help but it worked for me.... If you have either serial number for the car or the number off the front axel (bugger of find), that would help and don't use the cheap bearings that come with the kits, they really are dreadful.

    Heating/snow cowl

No idea re thermostat, guess with winter coming I need to check as it never gets very warm. Coolant is a couple of weeks old as just replaced chassis.

    200 TDI Rear Propshaft noise

Thanks all, we've done the diff and transfer box, I am always more keen to find the cause of a problem before I fix it - Not looked at the rear shafts though, only been looking at areas that are affected by the lift.

    200 TDI Rear Propshaft noise

I've just had my 200tdi raised a little, it was too high and had a terrible prop shaft noise when lifting the throttle anything over 40mph, it's been dropped it a little over an inch and it's not nearly as bad, but still there a little. Would it be worth trying a wide angel prop shaft as I...

Newbie interested in light off-roading in Sussex

I'll drop you a note if I go too, will try to as it's looking like a free weekend for me. From what I've seen it's fine for kids to be in the car, seen toddlers in child seats before. You see all sorts there and you're left to to what you like.

Newbie interested in light off-roading in Sussex

I'm guessing you have seen the Slindon website, it's as tough as you want it to be, if you don't want to scratch your car and take it easy then you can, but if you're not too fussy and want to get a little braver then there is plenty there. Worth going down, I try to when my pass coincides with...

    Stuck viscous fan removal

I used a cable tie to round the belt to tighten it and stop it slipping, couple of taps with on the spanner with a hammer and off it came.

    200tdi Alternator belt thickness

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on the belt, my fan is rusted up so may look into the electric option and add it to the list of jobs.

    200tdi Alternator belt thickness

I've just had to replace my alternator and belts, I ordered an alternator belt (ETC7939) but it's thicker than original, same thickness as the PAS belt, I've had to bung it on for now as the old one was disintegrated but it doesn't seat flush in the pulleys, does anyone know a part number for a...
