    Other wheels fitments: a list

Good point - it might be worth looking up the max weight on those Hondas (and TVR's :D )

    Freelander Air Con

I've been using my aircon today and my oh my ain't the ventilation useless. It is OK if I want deep frozen knuckles but nothing of note to feet or windscreen.

    Code Reader

I have the Carsoft i930 for my 2002 TD4 Auto. It is better than a cheapy OBD reader but not all that much. It can clear codes on some of the systems but it doesn't give all the data it could. I would (had I more money) have bought the Hawkeye. The FL2 should be more ODB compliant but some of...

    Other wheels fitments: a list

If you go bigger on Centre bore you can use spigot rings (off ebay for loads of fits). If you go bigger centre bore then you could use wheels off some Ferrari, Aston Martin, Maserati and TVR. More usefully it suggests that Ford Ranger 5 bolts should fit (not that I can find any on ebay) and...

    Egr Blanking Mod

Personally I'd make sure it was properly dry. Water doesn't compress so if you leave some water inside the inlet manifold you might 'hydraulic' your engine - which is bad ;)

    Freelander as a first car

Awesome - does he live on Sark? :D

Rear drivers side window not working

My drivers rear window did exactly the same a few days ago. Taking the panel off isn't too bad (I have a pre-facelift 2002). Remove the screw in the door handle (behind the bit you pull with your fingers to open the door) then the slide out the surround. Remove the two big screws in the main...

    Synergy 2

I've changed both switches to on and chosen my tune then run the engine - i.e. made the changes with the ignition etc off. The cab switch allows the system to be in 3 states - ECO1, ECO2 and whatever you chose on the ronbox in the engine bay. To enable your choice all you have to do is lift...

Freelander 2 new tyres, still on the back 1st???

Freelander 2 has a different 4x4 system called Haldex, I don't think this system is as pernickety as the viscous unit in the FL1. However, general advise for any car now is to always put new tyres on the back.

Which countries are Freelander owners viewing the forum from?

Cornwall (the locals refuse to accept it is part of England and say that you cross into England when you go over the Tamar river into Devon. Some even insist it is more like Monaco, a Principality and was not incorporated into England back in 17C - funny lot these Kernewek) Sorry :-)

'tis a bit small for that! :D

    Synergy 2

There should be a small grey stub near the 2 switches. Maybe yours has fallen out I seem to remember something about that in the instructions. You just turn that from 9 o'clock (1) to let say 11 o'clock (3) etc

    Ice/Snow Freelander Advice

I suppose with most manufacturers they let the marketing munts get involved so that the exact configuration is hidden behind acronyms and made up names. I find J**p with their Quadratrak variations as well as Hydratrak etc annoying to say the least. It looks like Subaru has the same issue with...

    Synergy 2

The instructions you get with it are pretty good, I fitted mine OK. If you are not changing the MAF from Bosch to Pieburg then use 1-5. I found fitting the Ronbox pretty simple, getting the air filter housing back on a bit annoying (but then I had practice from a Rover 75 with the same...

What tyres do you have on your freelander

215/65/R16 (i.e. standard size) Dunlop GranTrek SJ6 - they are actually a winter tyre and I got them cheap with hardly any miles on. Grandtrek SJ6 Tires | Dunlop Tires Other set has 2 Avon Ranger 65 and two Weslake SP06 road tyres that amazingly has M+S on them  I understand that you...

    Ice/Snow Freelander Advice

I thought the Scoobs had various 4x4 types which generally were of the proper centre diff with a locking mechanism which could be mechanical (torsen), viscous (like late RRC), plate-type, or with electrical/eletronic action similar to Haldex - some even had both (DCCD). As to the original...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I should ask my mate who is a Bard about spelling :D I understand fully about the concerns over the Hippo but given I have the mad 90 (custom springs/dampers etc) for RTV I need better mpg on the road. The hippo goes pretty far actually - I had it round our training site yesterday and got it...

Hello from the Border between Cornwall & England

Thanks Turboman, the name came from a book where it was a nickname which meant mountain cat or similar, is similar to courgar and now (thanks kind sir!) Cornish... I've been kourgath on many a forum from before the web back in the day of gopher/ftp and BBS. I've driven Hippos and taught...
