    300tdi compound turbo

Hello everyone, i'm currently running a 2052v turbo from audi a6 2.5 v6 tdi, and i must say it is a massive improvement over the original 300tdi turbo, however i have been toying with the idea for a compound turbo setup since. Not to make whopping power, but a system a bit more efficient than...

    200tdi knocking

Got my 200tdi running and driving today, I'm loving it. Only thing is, it sounds a bit knocky and i was wondering whether this was normal for these engines? Hopefully you can hear it on the video

    Cursed 200tdi

The lift pump was working for a few minutes while i was bleeding the system out, then stopped working, ie was sucking and blowing air from both the in and out ports. I then replaced the lift pump a few days later, was bleeding the system out again, and then guess what? the lift pump failed! same...

    200tdi

So a few of you may be aware i'm converting my n/a to a tdi soon. I was planning on fitting a 300tdi until i managed to find a 200tdi for quite cheap just today, i'm going to get it tomorrow! Only thing is it does not have a turbo or exhaust manifold. Don't suppose anyone has one lying around...

    Series 3 Restoration

I feel i'm really getting somewhere with this project now! The only thing holding up this restoration was an engine. Wilf's original engine was bored out to +.040, so needed sleeved and the cam bearings done, and that was gonna cost an absolute fortune, so we left the engine to one side until we...

    300tdi

Some of you may be aware of the upcoming conversion (jamesmartin, Al203 :D) The 300tdi from the donor vehicle is not at all knackerd yet, but has done 180,000 miles and i just thought i'd like to hear what you suggest i replace before i start using it in the 90? I know the cam belt is due, so...

    'zaust pipe

If i were to fit a 300tdi to my 1986 90, i would like to fit a straight thru exhaust pipe. I've seen them on paddocks for OK prices but they were for 200 and 300tdi ones which had the later exhaust brackets, so where can i find a straight thru pipe for my landy?

    More power out of 2.5n/a

Every time I look at posts on different sites everyone recommends I put a 200tdi in my 90. Unfortunately, I live in a ****e country where changing the engine would land me in the brown stuff. So how would I go about getting more power out of a 2.5n/a? I'm going to be using it for towing so...

    300tdi or 2.25.

At the moment in the restoration of my 1977 series 3, i still have well over 1000 euros to pay to get the 2.25 diesel rattle box back together, but i thought i could probably fit a 300tdi instead. I want to use the original box, because it has been completely overhauled and runs smooth as you...

    Hydraulic press build

I have a 10 ton and a 20 ton jack lying around.... I've decided to make a press, after using one at a garage (huge 50 ton beast). I shall be passing by the old metal shop later today, and i'll hopefully get to work this afternoon.

    Towing

Once restored, my series 3 might be doing some light towing and stuff like that, but when i went to see a guy about tires, the cross member on his series 2 it was completely bent backwards because he had been doing snatching/towing around his yard. I do NOT want that happening to mine, what are...

    Gearbox issues

Well, after my rebuild was going so well for a while now, this was bound to happen at some point, wasn't it? Yes, problems have finally appeared. I can't select 3rd or 4th gear without the use of a hammer. 1st and 2nd works fine, a really nice shift. But 3rd and 4th isn't happening. I took the...

    No, I haven't given up!

Anyone remember the old series 3 that i was restoring? Well, no i have not given up. It had just burned a small hole in my parent's bank account..... But today I've had a shipment of parts from the uk, i have some work to do on the 90, but i shall continue work on it soon! Should get some...

1994 disco, is it worth it?

I recently gave my 90 up to my dad, in exchange he gave me his disco which he was going to scrap. But, it's been in the family for SO LONG now, it's got many problems with it, many of which will result in a failed MOT due this year, but it's been such a great vehicle that i don't want to give up...

    Brakes

1986 90, new rear slave cylinders, new master cylinder, no visible leaks in the system, yet the brakes still operate weirdly. The system was bled out a couple of months ago, so i think any air will have been pushed out the system by now, but on first start the pedal drops to the floor. A couple...

    Citroen - Built to fail...

About a month ago, my mum had a problem with her citroen c4, that the heater fan would only work in pos. 4. I looked it up on the internet, and found out the problem was most likely to be the resistor pack. So, tracked down the part, got it ordered, took half of the dash apart to get to this...
