On the back wheels is the parking brake system separate to the pedal brake….is it different shoes or something?

Exactly how is that emergency release “supposed” to work?…..will I hear a distinct noise if it does happen?

Yep think it’s a cut job just wondered if there were some tricks I didn’t know about to get the release…from what I can see its a nasty job too to change the PBM but until I can get the cable released I can’t move to a garage and up on the ramps to know 🙂

Just when I try to release it screeches like a bitch (it’s an awful noise..!) it doesn’t release and then I get a parking brake fault message appear and think the dashboard light stays on red….if I leave it for sometime and start the car no warning lights or anything you would not know there was...

I put some electrical cord looped through the pull eye and pulled it up as hard and high as it would physically go ….as you say a little surprised it would not release as what’s the point of it otherwise which suggested to be something isn’t right inside the PCM itself?….also thinking of taking...

Yep I have pulled the release cable as high as it can go and it does not release…doesn’t sound promising does it ….nightmare..!!

ok will take a look -on start up the display says all system checks ok and nothing noted but I hear what is being said....:):)

I suppose where I am at with this is how likely is it that a faulty battery would manifest itself only through a rear door not locking/unlocking itself and then door mirrors not folding or unfolding on on the alarm system....no other noticeable battery related issues.....

would this be indicated on some kind of battery test or diagnostic or is it a case of change the battery and see if it works? - no other issues with anything battery related see......

I think it is the back door lock and unlock not operating correctly that is throwing out the alarm lock and unlock procedure and the mirrors not folding/unfolding etc....is this likely? If so : 1) will a plug in diagnostics show this fault and potentially be able to clear it? 2) if there is...

ok folks...i need an ACE pipe from pump to valve block...have searched the net but it all seems a bit complicated to make sure i get the right one..? does any one have any links to the right pipes for me on ebay , land rover specialists etc. also need some o rings for the pump. Its a 1999...

car back from the garage tomorrow so i will let you know how i get on....sounds like from your experience i'm still going to have the issue too.. :(:( seals changed and pipes still leaking , could it be the ACE block that needs changing too before looking into the dreaded "changing pipes"...

gotta a hydraulic oil leak coming from the ACE block under the driver's seat...it appears to be the seals leaking . in the garage at the moment having those replaced but is the only way to bleed the system by connecting up to a computer and clearing the fault codes / air blocks or can it be...
