Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

I asked for contacts details for the site owner and was told that they had an agreement with the owner to not pass them around. I wouldn't know about hidden agenda's but out of respect, I obliged and removed the details. If I posted anything on here that someone didn't want being posted, I would...

Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

Come on mate, I've been on this forum for ****in ages - I'm not "poaching" member for ****s sake. I've been out a couple times with you as well on the plain. I just thought some people on here might be interested in what's out there, being a land rover forum. I didn't know anyone was going...

I've realised I probably shouldn't have given out this location due to an agreement made with the owners, sorry guys!

Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

I didn't have my GPS running on the way but I know roughly where to go. It's out in the middle of nowhere though! We met up with a guide at a supermarket and he took us the rest of the way. Someone's made a decent video of the caves (mine came out ****) YouTube - Cinq Piliers July 2010

Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

We went with the four wheel drive club www.fourwheeldriveclub.com It was £150 for a car and two people, plus £10 each for passengers. Included ferry from dover, BBQ dinner, BBQ breakfast, BBQ lunch and camping on the site for the night. I'll try and find out who they had to arrange it through!

Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

It was pretty noisy down there - sounded nasty when my car jumped out of diff lock a couple times. It was really cold as well - about 10-12 degrees. Even though it was blazing hot outside, you could see your breath in the air. I loved it, once I got over the worries about breaking my car! haha

Cave Driving in Les Cinq Pilier, France

Got back Sunday night after a couple days cave driving in France. The place was intense. Glad I got my rocksliders on! Landy was great, didn't skip a beat. Did have a puncture this morning though but not bad considering! ImageShack Album - 43 images

    Idle Speed

I've googled vacuum line routing for 4.0 range rover but there's no pictures. Maybe someone on here has a haynes or other manual they can scan the page in for you. In the meantime, they are normally small black rubber or plastic pipes, about the thickness od drinking straws. They will be a...

I'd also check for loose vacuum pipes in case ones dropped off.

    brake caliper overhaul

A standard hex socket will not fit - you need a 13mm ring spanner or 13mm socket that has a star-like internal shape and not a flat hex shape. Like this one:

puttin protection on ... harder then i thought!

I've got a diff cover ready to go on and had the same problem - like Urban Panzer said, if you jack the chassis (if you have a tow bar, use this to jack on) and the body will lift and the axel will drop. I still haven't fitted mine though as I got it jammed between the diff and fuel tank whilke...

    front footwells

Could be coming in the heating vents. I've soaked my feet a couple times now going through big puddles at speed. Scared the life out of me the first time! It was like someone chucked a bucket of water at my feet.

    Leaking diff!

I've ordered this: FRC8220 Diff seal for 4 bolt flange diff - rear axle non ABS from JA032851 Is that the right bit?

    Leaking diff!

That's annoying - only just done the hub seals anorl! haha. I might get a new diff gasket and seal in prepartion in case it's not coming from the pan itself. What a pain in the ass. I'll post back when I find out how bad it all is!

    Leaking diff!

I saw a guide on welding on a new pan and I don't think my mates welder is up to it...I think bodge-it is the way forward. I've had another look and it could be coming from the front of the diff, not the back like I thought. Or it's coming from both sides!!

    Leaking diff!

God, it's one thing after another at the moment! haha. My diff is leaking really badly. When I bought it, the diff case has been covered in underseal - I wonder if it was rusty or whatever but it's finally started leaking. I can't see exactly where it's coming from - doesn't look like it's...

    Disco Rocksliders

I'm going cave driving in July so want something with a bit of meat behind it. Those covers might be a good idea as an alternative though.
